Wanta Wins First Ever WISSOTA Street Stock Feature

June 17, 2005; Antigo, Wisconsin; Dan Wanta claimed his first ever WISSOTA
Street Stock Feature win on Friday. A.J. Diemel grabbed the win of the
WISSOTA Late Model Feature with Charlie Wild taking home the win in the IMCA
Modifieds. Larry Karcz returned to Victory Lane in the IMCA Stock Cars
and J.P. Remington won the Truck Feature. Lee Christjohn won the WISSOTA
Street Stock Make-Up Feature.
A. J. Diemel jumped to the lead from his pole starting position, with Gordie
Seegert second and Terry Casey third in the WISSOTA Late Model Feature.
Ron Berna took the inside line around Casey for third. A caution flag
slowed the race and on the restart Diemel grabbed the point, Berna second and
Casey third. Casey got around Berna for the second spot but did not have
enough time to catch Diemel. The win was awarded to Diemel, Casey
second, and Berna third.
The IMCA Modifieds had a couple of cautions to start out their feature.
When the green flag finally dropped, it was Charlie Wild taking the point,
Jeremie Hedrick’s second, and Brad Rohloff third. Mike Wedelstadt took
over third as the caution flag came back out. When the green dropped it
was Wild at the point, Wedelstadt second, and Eric Scribner jumping into
third. Scribner moved into the runner-up spot and the caution flag
returned. The race would end in a green, white, checkered. When
the checkers came out, it was Wild taking home the win, Williams second, and
Wedelstadt third.
In the IMCA Stock Car Feature Asa Doxtator grabbed the lead with Steve
Kastning second and Barry VanStraten third. Dan Michonski made his way
to third and then took over the second spot. Larry Karcz followed
Michonski taking over third and then second when Michonski went for the lead
sending Doxtator to third. VanStraten took over the third spot and the
laps winded down. Karcz took home the win, Michonski runner-up and
VanStraten third.
Mark Schuenemann grabbed the lead of the WISSOTA Street Feature with Dave
Krueger in a close second and Jermey Wolfe in third. When the second lap
came around it was Schuenemann in the lead, Gary Kasperek second, and Krueger
third. Kasperek would take over the lead as Wolfe took over third.
The caution flag made a short appearance and when the race resumed it was
Kasperek at the point, Dan Wanta second, and Wolfe third. Lee Christjohn
jumped into the top three with a pass on Wolfe, and the top three went three
wide. When they straightened out it was Wanta jumping to the lead,
Christjohn second, and Kasperek third. With the checkers flying, Dan
Wanta took home his first ever feature win, Christjohn second, and Kasperek
third.
J.P. Remington jumped to the lead of the Truck Feature with John Ripley second
and Eric Ney third. Jeff Becker dug to the inside of Ney for
second. Mike Bostwick the grabbed the third spot from Ney. J.P.
Remington went on to claim the win, Becker second, and Bostwick third.
The weekly race program includes WISSOTA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA
Stock Cars, WISSOTA Street Stocks, and ASCI Trucks. Racing continues
weekly until September 2, 2004 with a break on June 10th for the Off-Road
Races. Racing begins at 7:15. Food and beverages are sold on the
grounds. Langlade County Speedway is located on the north side of
Antigo, just off of Highway 45 at the Langlade County Fairgrounds. For
