Buhler, Schutt, Volkman, VanProoyen and Thayer Victorious in Antigo

May 28, 2004; Antigo, Wisconsin; Friday race goers were greeted with sunshine and warmer weather for the racing festivities at the Speedway.  The WISSOTA Late Model Feature was won by Tim Buhler; Wade Schutt was the winner of the IMCA Modified Feature.  The IMCA Stock Car Feature was won by Shannon Volkman, the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature went to Scott VanProoyen, and the Truck Feature was won by Sean Thayer.

The Late Model Feature seen Kurt Meyers take the lead with M.J. McBride second, and Luke Roffers third.  McBride would take over the second position with an inside pass on Roffers, and would then take over the lead from Myers.  Tim Buhler would look to the inside of Roffers for third, then Myers for second, and finally McBride for the lead.  Buhler would immediately pull away from the rest of the field.  The caution flag would fly and on the restart Buhler would take the point with McBride second and Troy Springborn third.  When the twenty laps winded down it was Buhler taking the win with McBride second and Springborn rounding out the top three.

The Modified Feature seen Tom Haferkorn take the lead with Jerry Muenster second and Julie McDermid in the third position.  McDermid would take the inside around Haferkorn for the lead, Joe Haferkorn took over the third position.  Wade Schutt would eventually take over the third, and then second position, before taking over the lead with an inside pass on McDermid.  Schutt would pull away from the field, when the caution flag would fly. On the restart, Schutt would take the lead with Haferkorn second and Wedelstadt third.  When the checkered flag flew it was Schutt to the line first, McDermid second, and Haferkorn rounding out the top three.

The IMCA Stock Car Feature seen a handful of drivers take the lead in the first few laps of the race.  Shannon Volkman would take the lead at the halfway point, with Dan Michonski second, and Larry Karcz third.  Volkman would pull away from the field and leave the rest battling for position.  Larry Karcz would move to the inside of Michonski for the second position.  When the checkered flag flew it was Volkman taking the lead with Karcz second, and Michonski rounding out the top three.

The Street Stock Feature seen Scott VanProoyen take the lead with Gary Kasperek second, and Keith Raab in the third spot.  Kasperek would look to the outside of VanProoyen but could not make it stick.  The caution flag flew and on the restart VanProoyen would take the lead with Kasperk second, and Raab in the third spot.  Bruce Belland would take the inside line around Raab for the third spot.  When the checkered flag flew it was VanProoyen taking the win with Kasperk second, and Belland rounding out the top three.

The Truck Feature seen Sean Thayer take the lead after going four wide on the backstretch, with Paul Bostwick running second.  Mark Arrowood would take over the third position with an inside pass on Bostwick and Crandall.  The checkered flag would fly after a rollover because of the time limit.
