Jarlsberg Notches The 50 Lapper At Jefferson Speedway
by Larry & Jeanne Starr
May 5, Jefferson WI -- Kyle Jarlsberg of Cambridge claimed top honors in the
"Teez T’s 50" Late Model feature. Starting outside row 6,
Jarlsberg headed toward the front as John Ovadal claimed the early lead.
Jarlsberg claimed the 4th spot on lap 16, behind Chris Quam. A spin, in
turn 2, brought out the caution, on lap 19, closing the field for a
restart. On the start the Kyle Taylor, and Ovadal tangled coming off of
turn 2, with Ovadal spinning and both restarting at the rear of the
field. Quam led the restart with Jarlsberg looking to the inside.
Claiming the top spot on lap 20, Jarlsberg showed the way to the
checkers. The race slowed for 2 more cautions, for spins on lap 43 and
lap 48. At the finish it was Jarlsberg for the win followed by Dylan
Schuyler, Steve Dobbratz, Quam and Chad Reimer.
Winning the "Best Appearing Car" competition for the Late Models was

the only caution of the race. Helmer led the restart, as Dave Oswald and
Scott "Chico" Riedner battled their way toward the front.
Oswald claimed 2nd by lap 23, with Riedner close behind for 3rd. Over
the last 5 laps it was Oswald looked for a way past Helmer, as Riedner looked
for his way past them both. As they flew past the checkers it was Helmer,
by inches, over Oswald, with Riedner only inches back in 3rd. Rounding
