IRA's Point Battles Begin To Develop
by Paul Pittman
McHenry, IL: With the first three events of the 2006 Bumper to Bumper
IRA Outlaw Sprint Season now under their belts, the points are tighter than
they have ever been, with a mere 13 points separating the top
five.
The current standing show 2 time IRA Champion Kim Mock holding a slim three
point margin over Mike Reinke, with 2 time and defending IRA Champ Scotty
Neitzel looming just seven points behind him. The battle for the forth
spot is tied between Steve Meyer and Billy Warren.
Sixth through tenth is just as tight with Travis Whitney waiting to pounce in
sixth, former champion Donny Goeden in seventh, Scott Biertzer and Scott
Uttech are eighth and ninth respectively. Last Year’s runner up
Scott Young rounds out the top ten, just 84 points behind Mock, despite two
devastating crashes while running very strong, thus far.
Coming up next on the Bumper to Bumper IRA schedule is the grueling Wayne Daun
Memorial at the Wilmot Speedway (Wilmot, WI) on Saturday, May 20th.
Friday, May 26th will see the traveling show move North to the Superior
Speedway with a follow-up on May 27th at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring
Valley, MN. For complete details on the current point standings as well
