IRA Congratulates 2005 Title Holders
The Bumper to Bumper/United Trailers IRA Outlaw Sprint Series would like to
congratulate Scotty Neitzel and his entire R&H Enterprises team on their
2nd consecutive IRA Championship. Neitzel topped Scott Young in a season long
point’s battle that began when the first green flag waved back in April, and
they kept it exciting all season long. Joe Roe, Mike Kertscher, and Steve
Meyer completed a hotly contested top 5 in the series point standings.
Alaskan, turned "Cheesehead", Billy Balog captured the Arizona Race
Mart Rookie of the Year honors. Balog, a true 410 rookie, topped a very
talented rookie corps which included the likes of KJ Skelton and Matt Folstad.
In all, 13 different drivers captured IRA point events with Minnesota's Travis
Whitney heading the list with 5. Neitzel picked up 4, Todd Hepfner won 3,
while Kerry Madsen grabbed 3 at Knoxville alone. Young, Kertscher, & Roe
each claimed 2. Danny Smith, Ken Mackey, Wayne Johnson, Sammy Swindell, Randy
Hanagan, and Justin Henderson each visited IRA victory lane once in point
competition.
Johnson also picked up a non-points IRA win at Oskaloosa, while Tim Kaeding,
Craig Dollansky, Brooke Tatnell, Steve Kinser, and Daryn Pittman won
(non-point) IRA supported area World of Outlaw
shows.
The IRA competed at 20 different venues within a 5 state (WI, IA, MI, MN, IL)
radius. Once again, the IRA proudly boasted the highest car count, per event,
of ANY traveling sprint series. The IRA proved again that it truly does
provide the best value to fans and promoters alike in winged/410 regional
racing.
A record point fund will be presented at the 2005 IRA Awards Banquet on
November 12th, at The Golf Club @ Camelot located in Lomira Wisconsin.
Twenty-two teams met point fund eligibility requirements. The banquet is open
to the public, however tickets must be purchased in advance. Check out www.irasprints.com
