Filskov Memorial IRA Championship Nite Oct. 1

Plymouth, WI    The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series combines with the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association this Saturday night, October 1st, at the Shebogan Co. Fair Park as SLS Promotions proudly presents the 9th annual Frank Filskov Memorial Fall Classic. This event pays tribute to Filskov, a long time IRA star and supporter who tragically lost his life in a crash while competing with the World of Outlaws in Michigan in October of 1996. This event has become the traditional IRA points season finale and takes place at one of IRA's favorite facilities, Sheboygan County Fair Park in Plymouth Wisconsin. This will be the third time the late models have joined the winged/410 sprinters for this big horsepower event. Sunday, October 2nd has been secured for a rain date if necessary.

2004 IRA Champion Scotty Neitzel leads Scott Young in the IRA championship chase. The two have put on a tremendous battle all season long, from opening night this pair established themselves and they have been strong all year. Ironically both fell victim to serious engine woes in IRA's most recent event, leaving their championship night status a mystery.  Tremendous point battles throughout the standings will be settled this weekend.

The IRA show pays $2700 to the winner in honor of Filskov's traditional no.27F car number. The Late Models are set to take aim for a minimum of $2000 to win.   Pits open at 2pm Saturday, while grand stand gates open at 4, with hot laps slated for 5:30. IRA will qualify, while the WDLMA will run on a draw. If necessary, Sunday will be utilized with a 3:30 hot lap start.
