IRA WI-IA Border Wars On This Weekend
by Paul Pittman

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will make its' annual trek west for the traditional Labor Day Weekend Border Wars this Saturday & Sunday, September 3rd & 4th.

The weekend gets underway at the Grant County Speedway third-mile Saturday. The Lancaster WI venue has provided many a great IRA show over the years, and the small southwestern town is expected to rock again for this years lone IRA visit.

On Sunday the series travels an hour and a half northwest to the quiet IA town of Cresco, however as night approaches the town will awaken as the Cresco Speedway located on the Howard County Fairgrounds will produce some of the faster speeds of the year on the banked four-tenths.

Both these venues have provided great IRA winged/410 sprint car action over Labor Day Weekend for many a year, creating a Border Wars atmosphere between the two. A strong field is expected and the series points chase thickens as the season end nears. Defending Bumper to Bumper/United Trailers IRA Outlaw Sprint Series Champion Scotty Neitzel holds a slim lead over most recent series winner Scott Young.
