IRA Readies for 2005

McHenry, IL Plans are in the final stages for what looks to be a banner year for the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series. Title sponsor Bumper to Bumper is back on board with increased dollars for what should be a record IRA point fund. Long time IRA supporter United Trailers is also returning as an associate series sponsor.

The 2005 Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints schedule will be formally released soon, as a few late opportunities are trying to be fit in logistically for the regional traveling series. IRA is very proud to announce that the 2004 WISSOTA “Track of the Year”, Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN will be hosting an IRA event for the first time. The inaugural date to be run on June 25th with a new track record anticipated.

Freeport (IL) Raceway Park also reappears on this year’s calendar, after a five year absence. Main-stay IRA venues such as the Dodge Co. Fairgrounds, Sheboygan Co. Fair Park, Wilmot Speedway, Cedar Lake Speedway, Superior Speedway, Grant Co. Speedway, Langlade Co. Speedway, Raceway @ Powercom Park, Powercom Speedzone, and Red Cedar Speedway, all in Wisconsin, have locked in dates, while Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway, Cresco Speedway, and Echo Valley Speedway also have dates secured. Several other facilities remain in the mix, including a pair in Michigan, however some scheduling logistics need to be worked out prior to the official schedule being released.

IRA has traditionally been blessed with what is arguably the highest member supported car count per event in winged-410 sprint racing, and fans can be assured of the same in 2005. Current IRA champion Scotty Neitzel will be back to defend his title, and former IRA champions Joe Roe, Kim Mock, and John Haeni will be back hoping to regain their seat on the IRA championship throne. Another past champ, Donny Goeden is hoping to be added to the mix as well. The overwhelming majority of IRA's full cast of characters is slated for return, as are a few popular IRA runners from years' past.

"I'm truly excited about our team base for the 05 campaign, it should be one of our strongest ever", stated IRA President Steve Sinclair.

Fans should also be excited to know IRA will again be supporting area World of Outlaw events in a non-points role, creating what has been some of the largest car counts and most competitive racing on the World of Outlaws schedule.

Look for a formal thirty race IRA point event schedule to be announced soon. For information regarding the 2005 Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints, check us out at www.irasprints.com, or call 815-759-9269.
