Effertz Races Way To First Win Of The Year At GSR
By Scott Owen

Clintonville,WI,7/19/06--Much like the weather, the racing action was hot at the GSR Kartway.  Brayden Litton, Tyler Olson, Brett Swedberg, Josh Klafka, Randall Wilhorn, Andrew Hock, Sawyer Effertz, Aaron Milavitz, and Brian Peters all prevailed in their various divisions.

The kiddie kart race kicked off feature action.  Kaila Zahn led the early stages of the race before she was passed by Brayden Litton on lap four.  Then on lap seven Braden Muench took over the lead.  His lead would be short lived though, as mechanical gremlins ended his night one lap later.  This gave the lead back to Litton who would lead the rest of the race for the win.  Jason Ebert finished in the second spot.  Muench and Zahn won the heat races.

The box stock feature took a couple tries before they got rolling.  Once the race stayed green, Tyler Olson coasted to victory by leading every lap of the race.  Tristen Peebles finished in second, one spot better than Hunter Parsons.  The heat race winners were Olson, Parsons, Carter Kauth, Jeff Stewart, Cole Daebler, and Collin Buege.

After winning two heat races, Brett Swedberg started on the pole of the stock lite feature.  Swedberg survived a number of restarts and led the entire race on his way to the win.  Kirk Quaintannce brought home the second spot in the race and also picked up a heat race win.  Josh Long won a heat race also.

In the controlled stock feature race Josh Klafka proved to be a dominant force.  He led every lap of the race and was unchallenged as he took the checkered flag.  Nick Moeller took second in the race.  The heat races were won by Klafka and Mike Moeller.

Tanner Wunderlich led the early stages of the junior flathead feature.  On lap nine Randall Wilhorn took over the lead.  Then on the next lap, Parker May took the top spot.  May led until lap thirteen when Wilhorn got underneath May to take the lead back.  Wilhorn held on for the final two laps to get the win.  May had to settle for second in the race.  Wunderlich won both of the heat races.

The stock heavy feature looked as though it would be all Joe Reuter.  Reuter jumped out to a large lead early in the race.  Andrew Hock worked his way through traffic into the second spot.  Once Hock was in second he set his sites on Reuter.  Hock slowly began to reel in the leader.  On lap thirteen Hock made his move and got by Reuter.  Hock would not be turned back and went on to the victory.  Reuter held on for second in the race.  Hock and Reuter won the heat races.

The next feature up was the pro junior animal race.  Brandon Long led the opening lap before handing the lead to Sawyer Effertz on lap two.  Effert led the rest of the way to pick up his first feature win of the year at the GSR Kartway.  Long finished in second.  Effertz, Long, Alex Stumpf, and Alex Hock won the heat races.

Brett Swedberg was in position to win his second feature of the night in the pro animal race before he spun on lap eleven to bring out the caution flag.  Swedberg was sent to the back.  This handed the lead to Aaron Milavitz.  Milavitz led the final four laps for the win.  Jason Jach brought home second.  Milavitz and Swedberg won the heat races.

Brian Peters won the lawnmower feature race for the second straight week.  Steve Arndt finished second.  Peters and Sarah Rindt won the heat races.

Racing continues next week at the GSR Kartway on Wednesday night.  Racing starts at seven.  The track is located just west of Clintonville on highway forty five.
