Parsons Repeats, Klafka, Hock And The Missle Sweep
By Scott Owen

Clintonville,WI,7/5/06--Eighty racers were on hand do to battle on the incredibly fast eighth mile GSR Kartway.  The racing action was beyond compare, as some of the fastest lap times ever were turned at the track.  Hanna Daniels, Hunter Parsons, Derek Jahnke, Josh Klafka, Brandon Grendzinski, brothers Andrew and Alex Hock, Aaron Milavitz, and Steve Arndt brought home feature wins.

The first feature of the night, the kiddie kart class, proved to be a sign of the exciting action to come.  Brayden Litton looked as though he would run away with the race.  After lap one he had nearly a half track lead.  It was shortly there after that Hanna Daniels began to chip away at the lead.  Then, on lap ten, Hanna Daniels took to the outside of the track in turn three and made the pass to take over the lead.  Daniels would lead the rest of the way for the win.  Litton held on for second.  Kaila Zahn finished in third.  Daniels and Litton won the heat races.

In the box stock feature, pole sitter Carter Kauth led for the first three laps of the race before being passed by Hunter Parsons.  Parsons went on to lead the rest of the way to win the race.  Kauth finished in the second spot.  The heat races were won by Parsons, Kauth, Tyler Olson, Devon Church, and Brock Saunders.

The stock lite feature proved to be a real barn burner.  Kyle Lentz took the lead on lap one; Kirk Quaintance took over the lead on lap three.  Lentz battled back to the front on lap seven.  On lap eight Brett Swedberg took over the point.  Then a caution came out on the next lap.  After numerous attempts to restart the race, the checkered flag fell due to the time limit.  After the race Swedberg was disqaulified for a rule infraction concerning his tires.  This handed the win to Derek Jahnke, who had started the race in the twelve position.  Ryan Hinner finished in second, Joe Reuter third.  Swedberg and Lentz each won two heat races.

Josh Klafka swept the action in the controlled stock class.  He won both of his heat races and also led the feature from start to finish.  Brandon Reichenberger took the second spot in the race.  Mike Moeller also picked up two heat race wins.

Brandon Grendzinski showed the way in the junior flathead feature race.   After winning a heat race, Grendzinski went on to lead every lap of the main event.  Tanner Wunderlich brought home the second spot.  Parker May finished third and also won a heat race.

In the stock heavy feature Justin Heiting led for the first eight laps of the race before he was passed by Joe Reuter.  Reuter held the lead until lap eleven when Andrew Hock took the lead over.  Hock led the rest of the way to pick up the win.  Reuter had to settle for second.  Heiting and Marcus Yarie won the heat races.

Andrew Hock's younger brother Alex swept the racing action in the pro junior animal feature.  Hock won both of his heat races and led flag to flag in the feature.  Sawyer Effertz finished the race in the runner up spot.  Jesse Colwell and Dakota Quaintance won the other two heat races.

In the animal pro class, it was "The Missile" Aaron Milavitz who swept the action.  Milavitz set a blistering pace in the feature race and also won both of the divisions heat races.  Lacy Yarie finished the race in second.

Colt Gorges lead the opening lap of the lawnmower feature.  On lap two Ty Rindt took over the lead.  Rindt would only hold the top spot for three more laps though, as Steve Arndt made his way into the lead.  Arndt led the rest of the way to pick up the win.  Rindt finished in the second position.

Racing will continue next Wednesday evening at the GSR Kartway.  Hot laps start at six, racing at seven.  The track is located just west of Clintonville on highway fourty five.
