Bohlen Picks Up Exciting Win On Opening Night At GSR
By Scott Owen

Clintonville, WI, 5/3 -- A very racey track greeted the drivers for opening night at the GSR Kartway.  Seventy three racers were on hand to compete in nine different divisions.  Brayden Litton, Tyler Olson, Kyle Lentz, Brandon Reichenberger, Alex Stumpf, Joe Reuter, Johnny Whitman, Tanner Bohlen, and Ty Rindt picked up the feature wins to start their season.

In kiddie kart action Brayden Litton led the feature from start to finish and also won both of his heat races.  Newcomer Braden Muench finished second in the feature.

Tyler Olson earned the pole starting position in the box stock class, and led for the duration of the feature.  Fifth place starter Casey Sommers finished a strong second in the race.  Olson, Wyatt Blashe, Devon Church, and Sommers won the heat races.

Kyle Lentz had an impressive run on his way to the stock lite win.  Lentz started on the pole and pulled away from the field at the start.  A lap six caution bunched the field back up.  Second running Joe Reuter made a move to the inside of Lentz on the restart to try and wrestle the lead away.  Lentz was up to the challenge and closed the door on Reuter.  Lentz then began to pull away from the field again and cruised to the victory.  Reuter held on for second.  Lentz, Reuter, Ryan Hinner, and Kirk Quaintance won the heat races.

Brandon Reichenberger and Chris VanSwol battled for the win in the controlled stock class.  VanSwol stayed right on the back bumper of Reichenberger for the entire race but could not get by.  Reichenberger got the win, VanSwol second and Nick Moeller finished third after having to restart at the tail of the field for bringing out a caution.  Reichenberger and Moeller each won two heat races apiece.

In junior flathead action Alex Stumpf jumped into the lead on the opening lap and went on to lead the entire race on his way to the feature win.  Parker May crossed the line in second.  Stumpf and Tanner Wunderlich won the heat races.

Joe Reuter was untouchable in the stock heavy class as he grabbed the win.  Justin Flaig started in the seventh spot in the race and made a last lap pass to finish in second.  Reuter also won both of the heat races.

Johhny Whitman led all of the fifteen laps of the pro junior animal feature to score the victory.  Dakota Quaintance started in the fourth spot and worked his way up to second at the finish.  Whitman, Jesse Colwell, and Ben Stumpf were the heat winners.

Brett Swedberg drove into the lead at the start of the pro animal feature.  Tanner Bohlen ran second until lap twelve when he snuck inside Swedberg in turn one.  Bohlen  lead the rest of the way for the win.  Swedberg finished in second.  Bohlen and Swedberg won the heat races.

Ty Rindt picked up the win in the lawn mower feature in front of heat race winner Steve Arndt.

Racing will continue next Wednesday at the GSR Kartway.  Hot laps start at six, racing at seven.
