Woods, Parsons And Quaintance Pull Off Wins
By Scott Owen
Clintonville,WI,7/6--Box stock rookie Hunter Parsons picked up his first win
in the class wednesday for Dale Gas and Oil night at the GSR Kartway.
Skyler Woods, Eric Klafka, Alex Stumpf, Brett Swedberg, Kirk Quaintance, Ben
Stumpf, Justin Flaig, and Kyle Lentz also picked up wins among the field of
seventy eight racers.
The kiddie kart feature was led early on by pole sitter Talon Laabs. Laabs was
followed closely by Brayden Litton and Kelin Charles. On lap eight
Litton and Charles got together to bring out the caution. Both racers
were sent to the back of the field. On the restart Skyler Woods was
right on Laabs' rear bumper. On lap nine Woods took over the lead and
would hold off the charges of Laabs to pick up the win. Laabs and Litton
won the heat races.
The early portion of the boxed stock feature was plagued by yellow
flags. Once the race got rolling Mike Moeller was the leader on lap
one. Hunter Parsons made the pass for the lead on lap number two.
Parsons would be followed closely by Moeller for the duration of the race but
he would hold on for the win. Moeller finished in second, with Nic Page
in third. Moeller, Page, Parker May, and Rickey Kalfert won their heat
races.
Eric Klafka started on the pole of the controlled stock feature and led the
entire race. Jordan Reinke and Chantel Wunderlich rounded out the top
three. Klafka, Reinke, Brandon Reichenberger, and Angie Muenster won
heat races.
Alex Stumpf continues to dominate the junior one class. He led wire to
wire to get the win. Jesse Colwell finished in second place.
Reagan May took third. Colwell and Stumpf were heat race winners.
Brett Swedberg also had a wire to wire win in the stock medium class.
Swedberg was followed across the line by Joe Reuter and Andrew Theis.
Swedberg and Marcus Yarie won their heat races on the night.
In junior two action Kirk Quaintance started on the pole and never looked back
to pick up the feature win. Josh Long made a last lap pass of Cheyenne
Cameron to finish in second. Cameron held on for third. Kirk
Quaintance and brother Dakota Quaintance won the heat races.
Johnny Whitman started on the pole and took the early lead in the junior
animal feature. Ben Stumpf began working his way through traffic and
passed Whitman for the lead on lap four. Stumpf claimed the win in front
of Whitman and Collin Jackson. The heats were won by Whitman and Aaron
Milavitz.
Brett Swedberg led the entire stock heavy feature and crossed the line as the
winner. As Swedberg rolled across the scale after the race he was found
to be too light. Swedberg was disqualified and Justin Flaig was promoted
to the top spot. Second went to Brian Page, third to Mike Lambrecht.
Swedberg won both of the heat races.
In WKA animal action Nathan Horsens took the lead on lap one. Horsens
would not stay out front for long though as Kyle Lentz grabbed the lead on lap
two. Lentz led the rest of the way for the win. Horsens finished
in the second spot. Jason Jach made a last lap pass for third.
Horsens and Lentz won the heat races.
The lawnmower feature was cancelled on the first lap due to a roll over.
Next week will be the kids bicycle give away and also big wheel races for
