Swedberg Wins Two, Laabs And Klafka Get First Wins On Year

Clintonville,WI,6/15--Eighty six racers were on hand to race at the GSR Kartway on Auto Service Plus and Matthews Supper Club night at the races.  Bratt Swedberg picked up two feature wins on the night.  Talon Laabs, Mike Moeller, Eric Klafka, Alex Stumnpf, Matthew Kretschmann, Johnny Whitman, Kyle Lentz, and Shannon Peters also picked up feature wins.

A season high seven kiddie karts were on hand to do battle on the fast eighth mile oval.  Heat race winner Brayden Litton grabbed the early lead.  Litton was pressured by Kelin Charles and Talon Laabs.  On lap seven Charles was able to get by Litton to take the lead.  Charles was followed by Laabs until lap ten when Laabs made the pass for the lead.  Laabs would hold on for the final two laps to get his first win of the season.  Charles finished in second and Litton held on to third.  Charles won the other heat race on the night.

Mike Moeller started on the pole of the box stock race and never looked back.  Moeller was followed across the line by Parker May in second and Tristan Peebles in third.  Nic Page, Moeller, May, and Hunter Parsons won heat races.

Eric Klafka made his first trip to the GSR Kartway this season a good one as he won a heat race and also the feature.  Klafka led the entire race to finish in front of Chantel Wunderlich and third generation driver Brandon Reichenberger.  Wunderlich, Reichenberger, and Kyle Hahn also won heat races.

Darren Jackson showed the way for the first four laps of the junior one feature before Alex Stumpf was able to get by.  Stumpf would lead the rest of race to continue his domination in this class.  Jackson finished in second, and Austin Brier in third.  Stumpf and Brier won their heat races.

Andrew Hock started on the pole of the stock medium feature and held the lead until lap four when Brett Swedberg took over the top spot.  Swedberg led the rest of the race for the win.  Marcus Yarie made the pass on Hock to finish in second.  Hock held on to the third spot.  Hock and Yarie were the heat winners.

Matthew Kretschmann won both of his heat races and also the feature in the junior two class.  Kretschmann started on the pole and pulled away at the start of the race.  Cheyenne Cameron was able to close in on Kretschmann as the race wound down, but she could not complete a pass for the lead.  Cameron would have to settle for second, while Josh Long finished in third.  Long and Kirk Quaintance also won heat races.

Johnny Whitman had a new number on his kart, but he ran as fast as always, picking up the junior animal win.  Aaron Milavitz started on the pole and led lap one.  Whitman passed Milavitz on lap two and led for the duration of the event.  Milavitz finished in second, and Justin Kraeger finished third.  Whitman and Milavitz also picked up heat race wins.

Brett Swedberg dominated the stock heavy feature, leading from start to finish, to get his second feature win of the night.  Swedberg also won both heat races.  Cody Wunderlich finished the feature in second.  Justin Heiting started in seventh and finished in third.

Brothers Brad and Justin Anthony started together on the front row of the WKA animal feature.  Justin was able to grab the early lead with Brad in tow.  On lap five Kyle Lentz snuck by Justin Anthony to take over the lead.  Lentz would lead the rest of the way to return to victory lane.  Justin Anthony took second in front of Brad Anthony.  Brad Anthony won two heat races, and Lentz and Justin Anthony each won one.

Steve Arndt led the first lap of the lawnmower feature before Shannon Peeters took over the lead.  Peeters led the rest of the event to win the race.  Ty Rindt got around Arndt to finish in second.  Arndt did finish in third.  Peters also won the heat race.
