Mother Nature Apparently Not A Fox Ridge Racing Fan

ARCADIA, WI (May 21st, 2004) – For the third straight week Mother Nature has shown her apparent disregard for, and disinterest in, dirt-track stock-car racing in the West Central Wisconsin area. She unleashed an awe-inspiring lightning display May 7th just before drenching Fox Ridge Speedway immediately following the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature – setting the stage for double features the following week.

But, a week full of rains through West Central Wisconsin forced the cancellation of the entire evening’s events scheduled for Friday night May 14th. Not to be outdone, she reared her ugly head again dropping almost 4 inches of rain this past Wednesday before opening the skies again all day Friday to force the cancellation of the $2000 to win ‘Fox Ridge Spring Thunder’ USMTS special event scheduled for Friday May 21st.

So Dave and Judy Hesch, owners of Fox Ridge Speedway, will do the only thing they can do, look to next Friday night and hope and pray that Mother Nature takes her water-works show some place else.

While the ‘Fox Ridge Spring Thunder’ special was sure to be an evening to remember, Friday May 28th is being looked forward to for another reason. ‘VETERAN'S NIGHT’ festivities at ‘The Ridge’ will include an official appearance by the ‘United States Marine Corps Color Guard’ to start the evening’s regularly scheduled events, as well as the Memorial Day weekend. Additionally, Fox Ridge Speedway will be helping to celebrate the local ‘Arcadia Broiler Days’ festivities and the crowd will be treated to another appearance of the 4-cylender ‘Hornets’ class to the big 3/8-mile. And, there are still those make-up features for the USRA Modifieds, WISSOTA Super Stocks and WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds to be taken care of.
