Roach Roars To Win At Fergus Falls Raceway

(FERGUS FALLS, MN) June 13th - The "Big Dawg" Bryan Roach showed
he’s not superstitious with his first win this season at Fergus Falls
Raceway coming on Friday the 13th at the Fergus Falls Raceway. A large field
of late models was on hand with 17 cars starting in the main feature. Trent
Snyder and Randin Olson along with Roach made for an exciting race up front.
Olson had a very strong race running in 1st and 2nd much of the race, but a
spin in turn 2 shuffled him back to mid pack. Trent Snyder challenged Roach on
the remaining laps but Roach refused to be denied the win this night.
John Notch of St. Cloud brought his winning streak from I-94 Raceway in Sauk
Centre to Fergus Falls. Notch dominated the evening including turning the
quickest lap in the time trials. Oren Hoeper was the nearest challenger during
the main feature but just couldn’t reel Notch in on the final laps. Hoeper
did however best Notch in the evenings Fast Dash competition.
Andy Hanson is beginning to show dominance in the Great North Legends with his
second straight feature win at Fergus Falls Raceway. Ed Velardi provided the
fans with some excitement as his car brushed the wall on the backstretch.
Velardi’s car became airborne and shed some hardware into turn 3 but was
thankfully uninjured. John Lewerer finished a strong second to Hanson as the
two drivers set the pace for the field. Lewerer just didn’t the setup to get
by Hanson as the young driver took the win.
The UCAR feature was completely dominated by Adam Fronning as he again proved
to have the right setup for the race for the second straight competition at
Fergus Falls Raceway. Rick Third and Sam Hanson battled for the second spot
with Third winning that battle.
Ace Valencour roared across the finish line under a yellow/checker finish. A
spinning car on the final lap brought out the caution. The tow-truck operator
showed he has some quick reaction times too when a car came sliding through
infield toward his position. The tow truck operator saw the event unfolding
and quickly pulled ahead to avoid a collision. Now we know why they keep the
tow truck engine running!
