EWSC Reduces Price In Move to Manitowoc, Adds New Division
Less than one month after accepting a contract from the Manitowoc Expo to move
the Eastern Wisconsin Stock Cars 45 year old race program to the Manitowoc
track, the EWSC Board of Directors votes to reduce the grandstand admission
prices for the 2005 season. In 2004, an adult admission ticket for the
100+ car Saturday night program cost $ 9.00. For this coming season, the
Board reduced this price to $ 7.00. “With the growing number of race
programs and some great opportunities for the Club at Manitowoc, we felt it
was right to lower the admission prices for the fans,” stated EWSC Board
members. “With the lower prices for adults and student tickets and the
EWSC Junior Fan Club for younger fans, EWSC looks forward to families being
able to afford a great night of racing in Manitowoc.” Kids 12 and
younger can join the EWSC Junior Fan Club for the low price of $ 10 for the
season and they receive many Club benefits such as free admission to ALL EWSC
race programs.
In another Board decision, Eastern Wisconsin Stock Cars has reformatted the
All-American Mighty 4’s race program by adding heat races and a nightly
payoff for the drivers. This division, started at EWSC in 2001 as a true
entry-level division, has seen tremendous growth over the last 4
seasons. “We felt by adding more track time and pay to the division,
this division would continue to grow and become a springboard for new drivers
to race with the EWSC Club.” reasoned the EWSC Board.
Responding to a growing demand from local racers, EWSC also has added a new
entry- level division to its Saturday night format. The new division
will be titled the “Eastern 8’s” and will be based around cars driven in
local Challenge and Hobby Stock divisions.
Eastern Wisconsin Stock Cars will hold an informational meeting for all new
drivers interested in learning about racing with EWSC in all the
divisions: Super Winged Modifieds, Limited Late Models, Super Stocks,
All-American Mighty 4’s and Eastern 8’s. This meeting will be held
at the Manitowoc Expo office on Tuesday, February 8th at 7:00 pm.
As EWSC works to finalize the 2005 schedule, the Manitowoc Expo fair board and
the Club have agreed to add Wednesday, August 24th to the race schedule to run
during the Manitowoc County Fair. For more details about the tentative

To begin the 2005 Inaugural EWSC season at the Manitowoc County Expo, EWSC
will host a “kick-off” event on Saturday, April 30th. Starting the
day will be an Open Practice for racers to test their cars. Grandstands
will be open for free to any fans who wish to get a sneak peek at the new race
program at the Expo. Throughout the day, the Club will host a Car Show
and Brat Fry behind the grandstands. Later in the afternoon and into the
night, a band and DJ will be playing. The EWSC Season Opener is
scheduled for the following Saturday night, May 7th.
For more information, Eastern Wisconsin Stock Cars hosts a monthly membership
meeting on the second Monday of every month at 8 pm at the S & R Bar and
Restaurant just east of Plymouth on Hwy C. All interested parties are
invited to attend. The next EWSC Membership meeting will be Monday,
February 14th. 2005 Rulebooks, brat fry tickets, memberships, season
passes, tentative schedules and car number sign-up will be available at this
meeting.
