Ryan Dominates AllState 50 At Elko Speedway

(Elko, MN – 9-10-05)  It was an all green Budweiser Super Late Model feature Saturday night at Elko Speedway and it was clear sailing for Jake Ryan as he captured the win in the Budweiser Super Late Model Allstate 50.  Doug Brown motored to the win in the all green GhostRiders Sportsmen Allstate 30, while Brent Kane headed to victory lane by capturing the Coca-Cola Thunder Cars Allstate 25 and Adam Simon took the honors in the ACDelco Power Stocks Allstate 20.  Hornet feature wins were earned by Chris Marek of Lakeville and Corey Miller of Elko.

Ryan began his assault on the field from the drop of the green flag and had moved from his tenth starting spot up to fourth by the sixth lap.  Jason Schneider and Darrin Giles battled for the lead after the tenth lap when Ryan saw an opening, dove inside the side by side battle and took the lead, eventually able to open up a full straightaway margin on the rest of the field.  “We were happy tonight was as warm as it was,” said Ryan from victory lane.  “The last few colder nights have caused us to lose some ground.  This car performs so much better in the warmer weather.”  The race behind Ryan was fast and furious as Benny Van Cleve went to the high side of Giles to take over second.  Brian Johnson was able to move by Giles into third on the 19th lap.  But Conrad Jorgenson and Donny Reuvers were on the move toward the front of the pack.  Jorgenson moved past Van Cleve on the 43rd circuit to grab second while Reuvers got by both Johnson and Van Cleve on the 44th lap to take over third.  Van Cleve would give way to Jacob Goede on the 49th lap and then to Chad Walen on the races last lap, settling for sixth.

Brown was able to withstand some early moments on his way to the GhostRiders Sportsmen win.  Robert Hazelton grabbed the early lead with Terry Moore checking to the high side to take over command on the third lap.  Brown was able to move around Dan Whitehead for third on lap ten, bringing Justin Neisius along and into fourth.  Hazelton got the lead back from Moore and led at the halfway point.  Moore would reclaim the lead one more time with ten laps remaining bringing Brown along into second.  With seven laps left, Brown was able to wrestle the lead away from Moore and a lap later Neisius moved around Moore for second.  The three would finish in that order with Kevin Lutz making a late pass to grab fourth and Hazelton settling for fifth.

Kane methodically waited for his turn in moving to the front and the win in the Coca-Cola Thunder Cars 25.  He was able to get the lead off the races only restart on lap 15 and held on for the win.  Chris Cooley tucked behind Kane off the restart.  Kane was able to open a sizable lead when Kris Morlean challenged Cooley for second, finally making the pass stick on the final lap relegating Cooley to a third place finish.  Matt Carlander wound up fourth with Roger Meyer claiming fifth.

It appeared Scott King might be on his way to victory lane in the ACDelco Power Stocks 20.  King got the lead off the restart of the races only caution on lap six.  Simon moved into the second spot at the races half way point and kept the pressure on King.  With two laps left, Simon challenged for the lead on the high side opening up the inside behind King for Jeff Partington.  Partington got into the back of King on the final circuit with Simon inheriting the win.  King had to settle for second followed by Matt Ryan, Steve Klose and Mike Meszaros.

Marek won the first Hornet feature followed by Kevin Kawell of Morristown, Jim Bratsch of Montgomery, Mike Kawell of Elko and Trina Walter of Rosemount.  Miller led all the way in claiming the second Hornet feature.  He was followed across the line by Kyle McNearney, Lakeville; Nathan McHale, Elko; Dan Lien, Northfield and Andy Strean, Elko.
