Lemke, Schultz And Reuvers Give Repeat Performance At Elko Speedway
(Elko, MN) It was “repeat night” at Elko Speedway Saturday night as
Jon Lemke, Steve Schultz and Ted Reuvers were all able to head to victory lane
for consecutive weeks.
Lemke got a boost mid-way through the Budweiser Super Late Model 50 when
challenges were being staged for the second spot. “Starting from the
outside of the front helped this week. I’ve been lucky at my starting
spots for both weeks so far,” said Lemke from victory lane. Lemke
grabbed the post before the first lap was completed and held on through four
cautions periods for the win. Lemke was challenged in the early going by
both Donny Reuvers, Steve Anderson and Brian Johnson. Reuvers and
Johnson incurred problems while Jake Ryan moved to second to pressure
Lemke. Jonathan Eilen then joined the fray getting past Ryan for his
shot at the leader. But the veteran Lemke proved he was up for the
challenge as he posted the win by a car length over Eilen. Ryan finished
third followed by Jacob Goede and Anderson.
Schultz led the GhostRiders Sportsmen 30 from the green flag and had no
problem keeping his mount at the front, withstanding three cautions.
Greg Bieber worked his way through traffic and would close on Schultz by the
end finishing a strong second. Doug Brown claimed third followed by
Kevin Lutz and Adam Bendzick.
It took Ted Reuvers ten laps to take the point on his way to victory lane in
the Coca-Cola Thunder Car 25. Reuvers was able to work under Roger Meyer
for the lead. A lap 19 caution tightened the field, but Reuvers drove
away on the restart. Chris Cooley was able to keep pace with Reuvers but
unable to make the move to the front. Cooley settled for second followed
by Meyer, Kristopher Morlean and Matt Carlander.
The ACDelco Power Stocks also incurred only one caution as Jeff Partington led
all the way. Partington opened up an early four car length lead over
Dustin Tuma and was able to regain the same lead after a lap seven
caution. Tuma was equally dominant in the second spot and was followed
across the line by Chad Tuma, Steve Klose and Brock Weber.
The winners in the top three divisions will be going for a “three-peat” on
Saturday night, May 14 as Steve Schneeberger and Edina Realty present
Kid’s Night. All kids 12 and under will be allowed in free.
Saturday will also see the drawing for the winner of the Rusty’s Last Call
trip for two to Charlotte, NC and Lowe’s Motor Speedway provided by Miller
Lite Beer and H & S Distributing. Gates will open at 5:30pm with all
the racing action beginning at 7pm. For more information, call
