Country Joe Racing Shines On Country Joe Night At Elko Speedway

(Elko, MN)  Country Joe Homes sponsored race teams took top honors in both the Budweiser Super Late Model Country Joe Homes 40 and the Elko Sportsmen Country Joe Homes 30.  Joey Miller made the most of his first appearance at Elko this season by putting the Lakeville Ford Taurus into victory lane.  Miller followed Paul Neisius, another Country Joe Homes sponsored car, who took the checkered in the Country Joe Homes 30 for the Elko Sportsmen.

Miller started from the pole but had to contend with Donny Reuvers for the win.  Miller had motored away from Reuvers in the early going but a spin on lap 14 bought the pair side by side.  The second and final yellow occurred just two laps later on another spin.  Miller chose the inside line on the restart and Reuvers was able to stick side by side for the next 8 circuits until Miller showed his dominance in pulling away from the rest of the field.  Reuvers held on for a comfortable second place run while Jake Ryan outdeuled Brian Johnson for third with Jeff Martin holding off Jacob Goede for fifth.

Neisius took seven circuits to wrestle the lead from Steve Schultz in the Elko Sportsmen Country Joe Homes 30.  A couple of mid-race yellows tightened the field but by half way home, the top five competitors remained in position.  Mike Skaja twice got inside Neisius, only to be relegated to the second spot.  Greg Bieber followed Skaja across the line with Randy Waibel and Josh Vadnais in tow.

Only one caution marred a side-by-side Coca-Cola Thunder Car Country Joe Homes 25.  James Welton won wire to wire with Jerry Thompsen presenting the only challenge.  Matt Carlander took advantage of the lap 23 yellow to move into the third spot followed by Kevin Lutz and Joe Garafalo.

Michael Schmitz rode a pole start to the win in the ACDelco Power Stocks Country Joe Homes 20.  The all green race saw Brock Weber attempt to chase down Schmitz.  Weber was followed across the line by Bud Kane, Jeff Partington and Dustin Mann.
