Tuma, Mother Nature, Post Wins At Elko Speedway
by Chris Clark
June 5, 2004
Lonsdale’s Dustin Tuma claimed the win in the 3M feature for the ACDelco
Power Stocks Saturday night at Elko Speedway before Mother Nature claimed the
rest of the night. Lakeville’s Scott King took the early lead and
battled with Tim Hollen, Richfield, for the first eight laps before Hollen
finally grabbed the point around the high side of King, bringing Tuma with
him. A seven car fierce pile-up on lap fourteen claimed three of the top
cars. Lakeville’s Robert Clingingsmith cut a tire coming out of turn
four collecting the cars in tow. After a short red session, Tuma grabbed
the lead from Hollen and never looked back. Cliff Adee, Lakeville, was
able to wind through traffic allowing the seventeen year old a strong second
place finish in front of King, Hollen and Michael Schmitz of Northfield.
Cruiser feature wins were earned by the teams of Jeff Ewanika and Steve Jensen
of Northfield and New Prague’s Brad Simon and Steve Schalwig.
Strong Thunderstorms with intense lightening claimed the rest of the race
night.
