Cywinski Commits To ACDelco Super Summer Series At Elko Speedway

Two time ASA Champion Kevin Cywinski has made the decision to compete in at least the first of the three night ACDelco Super Summer Series Saturday Night, June 26 at Elko Speedway and says hes looking forward to the challenge.  I understand the series should draw some of the best short track specialists in the Midwest and Im looking forward to seeing what I can do against them.  The three night format with twin features each night and a great purse makes it all worthwhile for our Country Joe Homes Team, said Cywinski in making his announcement.  We have to see how our ASA program progresses this summer before we can make a decision on the other two nights of the Series.

The super late model series kicks off Saturday, June 26 with the second night of the series scheduled for Saturday, August 7.  The final night of competition will be held Sunday Night, September 5 during the speedways Labor Day Weekend Spectacular which also includes the ASA Minnesota 300.

The top super late model competitors from around the Midwest are expected to compete in the series that highlights twin 40 lap features each night.  The purse for the event will not only pay each driver for each feature, but will also be highlighted by a point fund for each night of racing with over $75,000 in prize monies posted for the series.  Over last winter, Elko officials announced changes in the late model division which has created the division now known as the Budweiser Super Late Models.  The change allows Elko drivers to be competitive with drivers from throughout the Midwest.  Were all anxious to see our regular Saturday night competitors go up against the best in the Midwest, says Tom Ryan, Elko Speedway President.  Area race fans are really in for an exciting three race series right here at Elko Speedway.

Ive always had decent luck racing at Elko and with the changes made with the Super Late Models, we know the challenge is in front of us, commented Cywinski who's race team is based in nearby Lakeville, MN.  This type of event is what racing is all about.
