WoO Late Models Invade Deer Creek Speedway For Two Shows

Officials from Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN and DIRT Motorsports are excited to announce that the World of Outlaw Late Model Series will invade the high-banked speedplant for two shows in 2006.

On Thursday, June 1st the WoO Late Model series drivers will do battle at Deer Creek Speedway for the 27th Annual Featherlite Gopher 50 Charity Late Model Race.  The annual show is being promoted by Deer Creek Speedway in conjunction with the Blooming Prairie Lions.  The $10,000 to win show saw great racing action at the speedway in 2005 as the race was held at Deer Creek Speedway for the first time in it’s 26 years of competition.  “The Gopher 50 was second to none” states Dean Miracle, race director for the World of Outlaw Late Models “we are looking forward to getting back to Deer Creek.” Darrel Lanigan came home with the victory in the late model division while Canadian Steve Arpin took home the $1,000 first place prize in the USRA modified feature event. An exciting 3-year sponsorship package has been reached with Featherlite to retain the Gopher 50 at Deer Creek Speedway thru the 2008 season.  A rain date for this event has been scheduled for Friday, June 2nd.

Negotiations continued as DIRT Motorsports approached the Queensland Family with an event that would present the largest late model payout in the Speedway’s ten years of operation.  This two-day event will be held on July 28th and 29th in which each day will be a complete show.  “Two day shows are great for the race fans in the area, it allows them to see two full features rather than just one and the drivers get a better chance to get a bite of the apple” commented Miracle.  Additional classes, payout, ticket information and more will be released as details progress.

The SPEED Channel will cover both of these high-powered events, as TV Crews will surround the Speedway to capture history in the making.
