CSR Invades M40 Speedway
On 9/1/06 3 drivers of the IL/WI division met with several Michigan area
drivers for an exhibition race at M40 Speedway. Jeff Myers, Tim Phillips, and
Erik Gehrke spent most of the race swapping for the lead, even spending
multiple laps 3 wide. In the end, it was Jeff Myers by a nose. The large M40
crowd was in awe of their first Super Cup race ever.
The IL. / WI. division of CSR made its fourth and final appearance for the
Super Cup Showdown at Galesburg Speedway on 9/2/06. Track conditions
were poor which led to a few early crashes. Ken Jones took home the
feature win for the open division in a shortened feature and Camdon Murphy
took home the win for the kids. Heat wins went out to
Brandon Scurto, Don Gettlefinger and Jeff Myers.
Congratulations to Gary Whitson and Mackenzie Piller for becoming the first
Super Cup Showdown Champions.
The Labor Day race at Rockford Speedway was cancelled due to heavy rain and
flooding. The last official race of the season for the IL/WI Super Cups is
Friday Sept. 29th at Lake Geneva Raceway. The points race is very close and
