March 27, 2003

Crandon, WI -- Crandon International Off-Road Raceway, the country's premier off-road racing facility, has unveiled a new track logo. Pictured below, the new logo is an updated and stylized version of the track's previous red and black logo.

"It was time to upgrade our logo to correspond with upgrades over the past decade at our track," said Cliff Flannery, president, Crandon Raceway. Flannery also said the track wanted to introduce the new logo this year in preparation for the track's 35th anniversary celebration next year.

Crandon Raceway, which is commonly referred to as the "World Capital of Off-Road Racing" by fans, off-road racers and the media, enters its 34th year this season. The track has featured World Championship off-road truck and buggy racing during this time and has grown to be the largest and most popular facility of its type in the nation.

This season, the track features two Championship Off-Road Racing dates. These include the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run Races June 21-22. Highlight of the weekend is the 10th anniversary of the Potawatomi Governor's Cup race -- a heavy metal challenge race between high performance 4x4 and 2-wheel drive race pickup trucks.

The annual BorgWarner World Championship Off-Road Races will once again be held over Labor Day weekend, August 29-31. The annual off-road World Championships kick off with a parade in downtown Crandon on Friday, August 29. That evening, the Forest County Potawatomi Friday Night Xtreme Thunderfest will be held. Saturday and Sunday feature Championship Off-Road Racing action, with drivers in several classes of off-road vehicles vying for World Championship titles on Saturday. The big race of the weekend is the annual BorgWarner Shootout for the largest purse in off-road racing and the $100,000 BorgWarner Cup.

Crandon Raceway has branched out this year to host the "Thunder Valley Biker Rally", sponsored by Forest County Potawatomi. The "Sturgis-type" event will be held July 10-13 on Crandon's 400-acre facility. Headlining the entertainment for the weekend is biker rock legend David Allan Coe as well as Pork and the Havana Ducks, Vic Ferrari Band, among others. Other sponsors for the inaugural Crandon biker rally include Miller Lite, Johnsonville, Indian Springs Lodge, Northern Lights Casino and Coca-Cola.

"All of these events will be featured on our all-new website that includes our new logo," said Flannery. Flannery noted the new website would be announced soon.
