Sponsors Offer Incentives For DTRA Late Models At Cedar Lake Speedway On Nationals Weekend
July 31, 2006; New Richmond, WI. Cedar Lake Speedway is proud to
announce additional incentives for DTRA Late Model drivers that will be
attending the USA Nationals this coming weekend. For starters, in
addition to the purse that pays $2,500 to win, $1,600 for 2nd, $1,100 for 3rd,
$900 for 4th, $800 for 5th, and $200 for 24th, Badger Excavating and Rick
Gondik Law Offices will be providing an additional $500 each night to one
driver that finishes between 11th and 20th. The winning number will be
picked randomly before the feature event each night. The driver that
finishes in that spot will pick up an additional $500 bonus each night.
As previously announced, the DTRA late models will be running a complete show
each night on Friday and Saturday with each event paying $2,500 to win and a
total purse over the two nights of over $32,000.
In addition, any DTRA car that elects to enter the $50,000 to win, $3,000 to
start, open late model portion of the event will get their $200 entry fee paid
for by Arnie Ranta and Greg Parent. “Greg and I want to encourage the
local cars to enter the race and see if our home town boys can compete with
the travelers”, stated Arnie Ranta. “It will be exciting to see a
large number of them running with the open cars and we hope this incentive
will encourage more of them to give it a try.” “With last place of
the B-mains paying $200 just to start the event, this should be an easy
decision for our local cars,” stated Steve Kaufman of Cedar Lake
Speedway. “We are thrilled to have great sponsors in Arnie, Greg,
Butch, and Rick. This is another example where these guys simply love
racing and continue to support our local late model competitors.”
The USA Nationals is in its 19th year and will be a non-sanctioned
event. The 3-day extravaganza will kick off on Thursday, August 3rd with
a full program of DTRA Modifieds, Super Stocks, Street Stocks, and Midwest
Modifieds. In addition, Thursday will present the completion of the WDRL/Lucas
Oil $10,000 to win event that was rained out during the Masters in June with
two B-mains and the 50 lap main event. To add to the excitement, drivers
that elect to enter the WDRL/Lucas Oil race at this point will be allowed to
tag onto the back of one of the B-mains and will have a shot at transferring
to the main event with the top 2 spots from each B advancing. Then,
action heats up on Friday, August 4th, with a complete show of DTRA late
models as well as time trials, heats, and dashes for the open portion of the
event. Then, the tradition is re-born on Saturday, August 5th with a
100-lap main event on paying an unprecedented $50,000 to the winner!
Tickets will be available at the door and nobody will be turned away.
Adult ticket prices are $20 on Thursday, $25 on Friday, and $30 on
Saturday. Students age 6-16 are ˝ price. Camping is available on
