Cedar Lake Speedway MASTERS Event To Be Tri-Sanctioned Again
By Ron Bernhagen
January 21, 2006. New Richmond, WI - As the saying goes, if it's not
broken, don't fix it. That saying definitely applies to the 2006 Masters
on June 15th – 17th at Cedar Lake Speedway as the race weekend that was so
popular in 2005 will once again be tri-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series and the World Dirt Racing League for late models and the IRA
Outlaws for the sprint cars.
"Where else but at the Masters can race fans see the best late model
drivers and the most competitive sprint car group in the country," stated
Bob Kaufman of Cedar Lake Speedway. "Better yet, our fans will see
complete shows for the late models and sprint cars each night and maybe see
themselves on national TV on Speedchannel."
The 2006 Masters will get underway Thursday, June 15th with a full program of
WISSOTA modifieds, super stocks, street stocks, and Midwest modifieds as well
as practice for the late models and sprint cars.
On Friday, June 16th, the high-powered late models and sprint cars will
entertain fans with their own brand of high speed and ultra competitive racing
with full shows for both classes. Defending Masters late model winners
Don O'Neal and Donnie Moran will do their best to repeat their $10,000 wins
against top Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers Earl Pearson Jr., Matt
Miller, Scott James and Shannon Babb, along with World Dirt Racing League
standouts Kyle Berck, Denny and Dave Eckrich, John Anderson and many more
national and regional drivers.
Heading the list of IRA Outlaw sprint car drivers will be defending Masters
winners Scotty Neitzel and Wayne Johnson doing battle against the likes of Joe
Roe, Kim Mock, Scott Young, Steve Meyer and local drivers Travis Whitney,
Jerry Richert Jr., and John Sernett. The IRA Outlaws traditionally
brings 30-35 sprint cars to do battle at each one of their shows.
On Saturday, June 17th, race fans will once again get their money's worth at
CLS when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the World Dirt Racing League
Late Models will sanction another complete $10,000 to win event and the IRA
Outlaw sanctioned sprint cars will compete in complete show.
