By Ron Bernhagen

New Richmond, WI - The 3rd Annual Pepsi Cup at Cedar Lake Speedway will once again be presented on Memorial Day weekend - Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28.  The two-day event will feature Super late models, WISSOTA modifieds, super stocks, Midwest modifieds, street stocks, and IMCA sprint cars.  The highlight of the weekend will be the $11,000-to-win Super late model show.  They will run their heat races on Friday along with a full program of WISSOTA street stocks, super stocks, and IMCA sprint cars.  WISSOTA street stocks will be racing for $200 to win and WISSOTA super stock drivers will be racing for a $450-to-win feature.

The IMCA sprint car program will be the first ever in the state of Wisconsin.  Many drivers from Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota have indicated they will be participating in the inaugural event.  "We are really looking forward to coming to Cedar Lake Speedway," stated Bob Allen, the IMCA sprint car director.  "Many IMCA sprint car teams are marking this show on their calendars."

The action continues on Saturday with the WISSOTA modifieds and Midwest modifieds joining the Super late models and WISSOTA super stocks and street stocks.  WISSOTA street stocks will see an increase in their purse over Friday ($250 to win) as will the WISSOTA super stocks ($500 to win).  The high-powered WISSOTA modifieds should show up in force on Saturday for their $800-to-win feature.  The Midwest modifieds will also be running for a higher purse than they're used to - $350 will be up for grabs for the winner of their feature event.

Super late models will round out Saturday's program with their feature events.  "Racing for $11,000 to win will be the highlight of our season," stated Mike Nutzmann, the current Super late model point leader at CLS.   "We don't race for money like this very often, so we will be ready because I know there will be a lot of other drivers trying to win this prestigious race."

Racing starts at 7:00 on both Friday and Saturday.  Camping for the Pepsi Cup is completely free, so come out and enjoy a weekend of racing and camping.  For more information, go to www.cedarlakespeedway.com or call toll free 866-4-CLS-FUN.
