Kuhn Captures Midget Crowns In Badger, NMDOTY & POWRi

Milwaukee, Wis.--Brad Kuhn enjoyed success in the 2006 midget auto racing
season like few others have in recent decades. Kuhn captured three driving
championships. The last driver to win three midget titles in one season came
in 1985 when Noki Fornoro dominated East Coast racing. Kuhn captured the
Badger Midget Series, National Midget Driver of the Year, and O'Reilly POWRi
Midget Series crowns.
Badger Midgets
Sun Prairie,Wis.-- Kuhn captured the 70th anniversary Badger Midget Auto
Racing Association racing season. Kuhn became the first champion from the
Hoosier state in series history. Kuhn's season was highlighted by eight
feature victories and 13 top five feature finishes in the 19-race season. Kuhn
became the 38th different driver to win the championship.
Kuhn despite competing in only 16 events finished with a 135-point cushion
over defending series champion Scott Hatton. Danny Stratton winner of the
three feature events placed third followed by Brandon Waelti and Aaron Fiscus.
Other feature winners during the season included Jerry Coons scoring three
wins for three different car owners, while New Zealand's Michael Pickens
scored two victories. Single feature wins were recorded by Fiscus, Adam Clarke
and Dustin Morgan.

Nat'l Midget Driver of the Year
Milwaukee, Wis.--For the second straight year Kuhn captured the Weld Racing
National Midget Driver of the Year Championship.
The Avon, Ind. native posted twelve feature wins and finished 92 points ahead
of runner-up Jerry Coons Jr., who also won twelve features. An all-time high
553 drivers scored points during the 215-race season which were held at 76
tracks in 25 states over 331 days.
Danny Stratton, Brady Bacon, Josh Wise, Bobby Santos III, Brad Loyet, Jay
Drake, Bryan Clauson and Mike Hess completed the top ten. Chase Barber
captured the Design 500 Racewear National Midget Rookie of the Year Award. In
the National Midget Manufacturer of the Year Award, Esslinger Engineering
claimed the engine manufacture award, while Stealth topped the point
battle for chassis builders.

POWRi Midgets
Millstadt, Ill.--Kuhn used a late season charge in the final six events to
overtake Mike Hess on the final weekend of racing to capture the O'Reilly
POWRi Midget Series crown.
Kuhn scored four victories in the 21-race season despite skipping four events
due to schedule conflicts. Hess finished second followed by Steve Knepper, New
Zealand's Jimi Quin and Nebraska's Rik Forbes. Brad Loyet tied Kuhn for the
most series feature wins with four, while other multiple feature winners
included Brady Bacon and Jerry Coons Jr. Danny Stratton, Forbes, Luke Icke,
Ricky Stenhouse, Chad DeSelle and Aaron Fiscus also scored feature
victories.
