Kuhn Sweeps Badger Weekend

Sun Prairie, Wis., July 16 - Brad Kuhn scored his second Badger Midget Series
feature victory in two days by winning the 25-lap feature at Angell Park
Speedway on Sunday Night. The victory his seventh of the season in the series
increased his points lead over defending series champion Scott Hatton to 122
points, with eight races remaining.
Polesitter Davey Ray jumped ahead of Kuhn at the start and by lap five the
pair were over one second ahead of third place Michael Pickens. Three laps
Kuhn moved under Ray entering turn three to the take the lead. At the
midway-point Kuhn increased his advantage over Ray and Pickens to almost
three seconds and began lapping slower cars.
Pickens last week's winner at the track flipped hard several times entering
turn three on the 17th lap, bring the event to a halt. Pickens was uninjured.
On the restart fellow New Zealand driver Jimi Quin flipped escaping injury. On
the next restart Kuhn with a clear track in front of him, easily pulled away
from the field.
A great battle for second position during the final laps increased Kuhn's
advantage. Kuhn driving the Kuhn Motorsports Stealth/Mopar finished 2.74
seconds ahead of Danny Stratton, Ray, Hatton and fast qualifier Aaron Fiscus.
