Badger Midgets Join SFI Foundation

Sun Prairie,Wis., Feb. 24- Officials from the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association (BMARA) and the SFI Foundation, Inc. have announced that Badger is the newest member sanctioning body to join SFI. 

The 2006 season marks the 70th year of operation for Badger the oldest active midget auto racing sanctioning body. The series will run 24 events at five tracks during the season. badger is the 52nd sanctioning organization to join SFI.

The SFI Foundation, Inc. (SFI) is a non-profit organization established to issue and administer standards for specialty/performance automotive and racing equipment. Much of the safety equipment in a racecar must be inspected and tested to establish the effectiveness of a given safety product. 

SFI is responsible for monitoring adherence to the Specs Program by verification of certified test reports from recognized test laboratories and performance audits where applicable, as defined by the Spec procedures. Each SFI Specification is reviewed periodically by committee members, to revise and update as required by current technology.

Manufacturers of equipment are the primary users of SFI standards. Some standards are adopted as part of the rules of race sanctioning organizations. Further information on SFI can be found on their website: www.sfifoundation.com
