First 'Prairie Win For Kuhn

Sun Prairie,Wis., Aug. 7 - Brad Kuhn topped series point leader Scott Hatton
by two car lengths to win the 25-lap Badger Midget Series feature Sunday Night
at Angell Park Speedway. The win was the first career feature victory for Kuhn
at the track. Kuhn now has six feature wins this season in four different
series.
Davey Ray moved into the lead on the opening lap, while Kuhn and Hatton
appeared in the top three on lap three. Kuhn closed on Ray's advantage and
pasted the former series champion for the lead exiting turn two on the seventh
lap. Hatton passed Ray for second three laps later. The trio pulled away from
the field and Kuhn began lapping slower cars at the mid-way point.
Ray retired with engine problems on lap 16 while Kuhn held a seven car length
lead over Hatton with five laps remaining. On the 22nd lap Buddy Luebke
stalled on the track, bringing out the caution.
Kuhn used two lapped cars between himself and Hatton on the restart to his
advantage and scored the victory driving the John Grau owned Stealth/Mopar#74
entry. Brandon Waelti, Dan Boorse and Nick Lundgreen completed the top five.
Hatton now holds a 133 point lead over Danny Stratton heading into the Aug. 14
event at Angell Park Speedway. " To win here at this track is special, it
was on our list of goals at the start of the season" commented Kuhn in
victory lane.
