Kuhn Holds Big NMDOTY Point Lead Heading To Milwaukee

West Allis, Wis., July 20-Brad Kuhn holds a comfortable point lead in the National Midget Driver of the Year Championship point standings heading into the July 23 USAC National Midget Car Series event at the Milwaukee Mile.

Kuhn, from Avon, Ind. has four victories to his credit this season. Kuhn also won the Kwik Change Relief Valves Mid-Season Challenge leading the point standing at the mid-season mark on July 1. His then 300-plus point lead was the largest in the history of the award.

“Staring with the Speedrome (on July 21) we will run 8 races in 11 days so it will be important to our point leads at Speedrome, and Driver of the Year during the span” said Kuhn.  “I enjoyed last year running the Milwaukee Mile last year, however engine problems ended our day early”. Kuhn placed 26th in last year’s feature event.

Three NMDOTY runner-up finishers hold down the next three positions behind Kuhn, Jerry Coons Jr. (1999), Davey Ray (2004), and Mike Hess (2002).
