Badger Midget Opener May 2 At Hales
Boorse Only Repeater In Twenty Races


FRANKLIN, WI, April 14---The Badger Midget Series kicks off their 67th year, at the Hales Corners Speedway, on Friday Night May 2. It marks the first time the series had held their season opening event at the facility.

The last twenty midget events at the track has produced seventeen different feature winners, with Dan Boorse being the only repeat winner during the time peroid, winning three events. One event was shortened by curfew resulting in an incomplete feature.

Several drivers expected to compete in the event who have not won a feature at the track include: current Badger champion Aaron Fike, Tracy Hines,Cory Kruseman, A.J. Fike, Chad DeSelle, Brandon Waelti, Dean Erfurth, Randy Koch, and Quinn McCabe. During the 2002 season Mike Hess, and Boorse were the feature winners in June, and August.

Drivers will also be aiming for Scott Hatton's one-lap track qualifying mark he set on May 30, 1997, with a lap of 15.466 seconds.
