Hales Corners Speedway To Host Badger Midget Opener

Franklin, WI - The Badger Midget Auto Racing Association (BMARA) will kick off its 67th year of midget auto racing, on Friday Night May 2 at the Hales Corners Speedway.

The series has been a fixture at the track for nearly forty years. It marks the first time the season opener has ever been held at the facility. "Badger's history at our track is very important, and its a pleasure to host their season opener for the first time ever" commented Jim Wehner, track manager. Aaron Fike will begin defense of series championship at the event. Past Badger champions Dan Boorse, Kevin Olson, Randy Koch, Dean Erfurth, Kevin Doty, and Scott Hatton headline a few of the drivers excepted to compete in the event.

Eighteen different drivers have won the last twenty one events at the track dating back to 1989, with Boorse being the only repeat winner during that time span. The sixth annual Milwaukee Cup Midget Classic will also be run at the track on Friday Night June 27, Mike Hess is the defending champion.
