Adler Double Winner

Story by Mike Weaver

Again, the father-and-son team of Scott and Joey Adler came up big winners at Badger Raceway. Father Scott again easily won the Sr. Sportsman Heavy feature. But it would be son Joey who would be the big winner, taking both the Jr. SSX Can and HPV Jr. features. Once both feature races started, Adler jumped out in front and was unchallenged.

Aron Scalissi won the Briggs Animal Sr. Heavy feature by 5 seconds. However, behind him, Tom Schroeder had all he could handle with the hard-charging Kelsey Bauer. Bauer continuously worked Schroeder over, but just could not get by in what was a great racing exposition by both drivers.

Ted Goad pulled off the surprise victory of the day by claiming the HPV Heavy feature race. Goad was driving his old backup chassis due to the destruction of his main chassis back at Road America. However, he made it look easy as he won a heat race and went flag-to-flag to claim the feature title.  Also, a special congratulations goes out to Wayne Johnson who took his first feature win in Yamaha Heavy. His nephew Tony came in 2nd to make it a family deal!

Ryan Lemmer and Joe Brenner put on a great show in Sr. Sportsman Lite. Lemmer got the jump from the pole on the start and he and Brenner broke away from the pack. Brenner was relentless, taking a peek at almost every corner, just waiting for the right moment. However, that moment wouldn't come as the race was red-flagged due to a crash-related injury involving Nancy Olsen. Olsen walked away with a possible fractured hand and the race was called at that point.

Other big winners included Pete Koostra, Scott Kalish, Gavin Hallman, Ryan Rutzinski, Aron Scalissi, Jason Foley, Robby Mueller, Tommy Anderson, Kelsey Bauer, Brian Julien and Jason Bowler.
