Schmid Takes First Mod Win At Powercom Park

The final round of the Duel at the Dam Series took place at The Raceway
at Powercom Park in Beaver Dam on Saturday night. The Iowa County Chrysler
sponsored event featured the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association, the
Johnsonville Brats Modifieds and the Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin
Legends Racing Dirt Series.
Rob Schmid of Burnett drove to his first modified win as he captured the
20-lap Johnsonville Brats Modifieds A-Main. Schmid used the outside groove and
led from start to finish in becoming the seventh different driver to win a
modified A-Main this season. Russ Reinwald of Iron Ridge worked his way up to
finish in second. Dave Schoenberger of Beaver Dam had a strong showing as he
nipped Jay Schraufnagel of Beaver Dam at the line for third. Frank Firari of
Lowell picked his way up through traffic from the middle of the field to
finish in fifth.
Eric Barth of Sauk City recorded his fifth win of the season in a thrilling
20-lap Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series
A-Main. In a four-car battle out of the fourth turn on the final lap, it was
Barth who emerged the victor over Warren Ropp of Kalona, IA, Joel Wyttenbach
of Sauk City and Brad Weber of Rolling Prairie. Joey Johnson, who led the
first four laps of the event, drove to fifth.
Danny Stratton of Riverside, CA drove to his third Badger Midget win of the
season in the 30-lap A-Main. Stratton also claimed the overall title for the
four race Duel at the Dam Series. Brandon Waelti of Sun Prairie, who led
earlier in the event, finished in second ahead of Joe Wipperfurth of Sun

Modified B-Main wins were registered by B.G. Wood of Kenosha, Chad Hummelmeier
of Beaver Dam, and Frank Firari. Heat race wins went to Brian Crapser of
Brookfield, Dylan Koltz of Beaver Dam, Steve Mueller of Mukwonago, Craig
Priewe of Beaver Dam, Russ Reinwald, and Rob Schmid.
Legend heat race victories went to Brad Weber and Eric Barth.
This Saturday night is the final points race of the season for the five
regular divisions. Half price coupons for adult general admission are
