Zdroik Takes Mod Feature At Powercom Park

Jim Zdroik of Big Bend drove to victory in the 20-lap Johnsonville Brats
Modified A-Main on Charter Communications Night at The Raceway at Powercom
Park on Saturday night. Zdroik battled it out with Joe McGrath of Neosho most
of the way enroute to his first win of the season. Zdroik is the fifth
different driver to win an A-Main in the division this season. In what was
even more spectacular than his win, Zdroik rolled his mount in turn two after
the event. Fortunately, Zdroik was fine and later returned with the car to the
winners circle for the trophy presentation. Frank Firari of Lowell moved up
from midway in the pack to finish in second. McGrath followed in third. Rob
Schmid of Burnett and Chris Piquette of Random Lake followed in fourth and
fifth, respectively, to record their best finishes of the season.
Tommy Moore of Muskego took over the lead on lap ten of the Northwoods Paper
Converting 20-lap Grand Nationals A-Main and then held on to win by edging out
Don Sorce Jr. of West Allis at the line. It was the first win of the season
for Moore. Roger Lee of Wind Lake, who was in the thick of the battle as well,
crossed the line in third. Steve Seitz of Beaver Dam finished in fourth. Dion
Wahl of Omro was fifth.
Chuck Hummelmeier of Friesland charged from his fifth row starting position to
take the lead on lap seven and go onto score his fourth win of the season in
the Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks 20-lap A-Main. The win moved Hummelmeier
on top of the point standings in the division. Jon Schultz of Belleville, in
his rookie season in the division, had a strong run finishing in second. Barry
Cates of Greenfield came the eighth row to finish in third. Brent Lepple of
Beaver Dam followed in fourth ahead of Don Vander Galien of Wautoma.
In a crash filled Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt
Series A-Main, Joel Wyttenbach of Sauk City claimed his fourth win of the
season. The event saw a series of crashes that caused the race to be shortened
to 10 laps as it exceeded the time limit for the race. Early race leader, Phil
Van Tatenhove of Sheboygan Falls was credited for second. Adam Reed of Beaver
Dam took third. Bethany Wyttenbach of Plain drove to fourth. Warren Ropp of
Kalona,IA recovered from the first lap incident to finish in fifth.
Andy Sullivan of Horicon captured his second win of the season in the
Wallys Auto Dirt Devils A-Main. Doug Draheim of Brookfield crossed the line
in second, but later relinquished that position when he refused a claim
following the event. Matthew Janke of Mequon was awarded second. Eddie Lemay
III of Milwaukee took the third spot ahead of Aaron Stolp of West Allis and
Jeremy Schwoch of Waupun.
Modified B-Main wins were registered by Dennis Haldemann of Randolph, Craig
Priewe of Beaver Dam and Eddie Lemay Jr. of Milwaukee. The Dirt Devils B-Main
was won by Tim Draheim of Beaver Dam.
Modified heat race wins were won by Dannon Tessmer of Slinger, Dennis Krause
of Oconomowoc, Chad Hummelmeier of Beaver Dam, Scott Barnharst of Franklin,
Frank Firari, and Rob Schmid. The Grand National heat race victories went to
Andy Bolstad of Montello and Eric Grunst of Beaver Dam. Racing to heat race
wins in the stocks division were Chuck Hummelmeier and Jimmy Berkevich Jr. of
Beaver Dam. Phil Van Tatenhove and Warren Ropp were victorious in the Legends
heats. Kevin Schutz of Madison, Andy Sullivan, and Kevin Allard of Brandon
recorded the Dirt Devils heat race wins.
