Reinwald, Sorce Jr., Bedker, Barth, And Draheim Take Wins At Powercom Park

Legends of Racing Night at the Raceway at Powercom Park not only brought out
some of the great race cars of the past, it also brought out 136 cars ready
for action on Saturday night.
In the Johnsonville Brats Modified 20-lap A-Main, Russ Reinwald of Iron Ridge
took over the lead from Aaron Rake of Beaver Dam on lap two and never gave up
the top spot. Although Reinwald led all but one lap, it was not an easy win.
Following a caution on lap thirteen, Jeremy Christians of Horicon moved into
second and began to challenge Reinwald for the lead. Reinwald worked the high
groove while Christians found the inside lane to his liking. Despite repeated
attempts by Christians, it was Reinwald who proved to be the strongest as he
crossed the line first as the checkered flag waved. Craig Priewe of Beaver Dam
followed in third. John Stanton of Reeseville drove to fourth ahead of Edie
Lemay Jr. of Milwaukee.
Don Sorce Jr. of West Allis picked up where he left off last season as he
picked up the win in the 20-lap Northwoods Paper Converting Grand Nationals
A-Main. Sorce took over the lead on lap eleven after battling for several laps
with Tommy Moore of Muskego. Kevin Rank of Ripon finished in third behind
Sorce and Moore. John Sidesky of Muskego moved up to finish in fourth. Dion
Wahl of Omro was fifth.
There were three different leaders in the first five laps of the Dodge Central
Credit Union Stocks A-Main. Jon Schultz of Belleville led at the start of the
event. Don Vander Galien of Wautoma moved up quickly to take over the lead on
lap four. However, one lap later Matt Bedker slipped by Vander Galien to take
over the lead. Bedker led the rest of the way to claim the win. Mike Murray of
Beaver Dam moved up from the fifth row to finish in second. Jerry Winkler of
Oshkosh followed in third ahead of Don Vander Galien. Barry Cates of
Greenfield was fifth.
Joel Wyttenbach of Sauk City jumped into the lead at the start of the
Gibbsville Cheese INEX Legends/Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series 20-lap
A-Main event. Eric Barth of Sauk City moved up quickly to challenge Wyttenbach
for the top spot. The race was halted on lap eleven when Loren Zuhlke Jr. of
Beaver Dam flipped violently on the back straight. Fortunately, Zuhlke walked
away from his heavily damaged car. When Racing resumed, Wyttenbach and Barth
continued their fight for the top spot. Wyttenbach raced up high while Barth
was finding good bite on the bottom. Barths persistence paid off, as he was
able to move out in front on lap fourteen. Wytenbach stayed close but had to
settle for second behind Barth. Warren Ropp of Kalona, IA drove to third ahead
of Joe Johnson of Slinger. Adam Reed of Beaver Dam charged from the seventh
row to finish in fifth.
Doug Draheim of Brookfield powered his way past Eddie Lemay III of Milwaukee
with just two laps remaining and went on to take the win in the 20-lap
Wallys Auto Dirt Devils A-Main. Aaron Stolp of West Allis followed in third
ahead of Jeremy Schwoch of Waupun and Roger Frank of Beaver Dam.
Modified B-Main wins were registered by Jay Schraufnagel of Beaver Dam and Dan
Tafelski of West Allis. Adam Reed won the legends B-Main.
Modified heat race wins were recorded by Frank Firari of Lowell, Eddie Lemay,
Craig Priewe, Russ Reinwald and Brian Crapser of Brookfield. Don Sorce Jr. and
Roger Lee of Wind Lake won the grand national heats. Stock heat wins were
taken by Don Vander Galien and Matt Bedker. Joe Surprise of Beaver Dam, Joel
Wyttenbach and Eric Barth captured the legends heats. Roger Frank, Eddie Lemay
III and Kevin Schutz of Madison were victorious in the dirt devils heats.
