Awards For Powercom Park & Powercom Speedzone Drivers

The Raceway at Powercom Park and The Powercom Speedzone held their 2005 Racing
Season Picnic and Awards Presentations on Saturday October 8 at The Raceway at
Powercom Park in Beaver Dam, WI. The new format for a more casual event was
well received. The top ten in the point standings for the regular weekly
divisions were recognized for their accomplishments of the past season. There
were also a number of special awards presentations. The sponsors, fans,
drivers, car owners, employees and all others who supported the two tracks
during the season were thanked for helping to make the season a success. Plans
are already being made for the 2006 season.
For the second season in a row, Jay Schraufnagel of Beaver Dam captured the
track championships in the Shaver Builders and Home Improvement Modified
Division at The Raceway at Powercom Park and the Budweiser Modified Division
at The Powercom Speedzone. Schraufnagel once again recorded some very
impressive numbers in his drive to the championships. At The Raceway at
Powercom Park, Schraufnagel claimed eight A-Main wins, eleven top five A-Main
finishes and eleven preliminary wins. At the Powercom Speedzone, he registered
four A-Main wins, eleven top five A-Main finishes and nine preliminary
wins.
Finishing in second through tenth in the standings at The Raceway at Powercom
Park were Eddie Lemay Jr. of Milwaukee, Russ Reinwald of Iron Ridge, Frank
Firari of Lowell, Chris Piquette of Random Lake, Dennis Haldemann of Randolph,
Andy Voigt of Beaver Dam, Larry Zirbel of Iron Ridge, Steve Mueller of
Mukwonago and Rob Schmid of Burnett.
Finishing in second through tenth at The Powercom Speedzone were Brian Drexler
of Oshkosh, Benjamin Brinkman of Oshkosh, Jarrod Anvelink of Bonduel, Dennis
Schultz of Oshkosh, Travis Spaulding of Greenville, Paul Parker of Kaukauna,
Mike Mullen of Seymour, Russ Reinwald, and Ryan Besaw of Omro.
Nate Schepp of Beaver Dam drove to The Dodge Central Credit Union Stocks
Division Championship at The Raceway at Powercom Park. Schepp was also
champion of the division in 2003. On his way to the title, Schepp recorded
three A-Main wins, ten top five A-Main finishes and two preliminary wins.
Finishing in second through tenth were Don Vander Galien of Wautoma, Dan
Troyan of Menomonee Falls, Matt Bedker of Beaver Dam, Mike Murray of Beaver
Dam, Tim Montonati of Appleton, Eric Grunst of Beaver Dam, Jasper Drengler of
Shawano, Jeff Link of Beaver Dam and Aaron Streblow of Waupun.
Jerry Kope of Oshkosh captured his third consecutive track championship in the
Charter Communications Stocks Division at The Powercom Speedzone. Kope drove
to five A-Main wins, eleven top five A-Main finishes and seven preliminary
wins. Second through tenth in the standings were Tim Reichenberger of Oshkosh,
Adam Pugh of Omro, F.W. Formiller of Oshkosh, Ken Feavel of Oshkosh, Shawn
Haydon of Greenville, Mike Nehmer of Larsen, Scott Beckman of Readfield, Jerry
Winkler of Oshkosh and Gary Neau of Omro.
Joel Wyttenbach of Sauk City raced to his first championship in the Gibbsville
Cheese Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series. The Series competed weekly at The
Raceway at Powercom Park and also raced several events at other facilities
including the Powercom Speedzone. In action at The Raceway at Powercom Park,
Wyttenbach registered six A-Main wins, fourteen top five A-Main finishes and
three preliminary wins. Finishing in second through tenth in the Series
standings were Aaron Rake of Beaver Dam, Eric Barth of Sauk City, Greg
Hartlaub of Sheboygan Falls, Adam Reed of Slinger, Joe Johnson of Slinger,
Darwin Banes of Beaver Dam, Bethany Wyttenbach of Plain, Kevin Brill of
Oostburg and Phil Van Tatenhove of Sheboygan Falls.
The Northwoods Paper Converting Grand Nationals Division at The Raceway at
Powercom Park saw Don Sorce Jr. of West Allis drive to the championship. Sorce
recorded two A-Main wins, thirteen top five A-Main finishes and two
preliminary wins in action this season. Second through tenth in the standings
went to Roger Lee of Wind Lake, Tommy Moore of Muskego and Steve Seitz of
Beaver Dam in a tie for third, Kevin Rank of Ripon, Dion Wahl of Omro, Dan
Schumacher of Milwaukee, Nick Schumacher of Eagle, Curt Beek of Waupun and
Craig Smith of Beaver Dam.
Terry Van Roy of Appleton edged out Tim Doehling of Winneconne by two points
to claim the track championship in the Grand National Division at The Powercom
Speedzone. Van Roy drove to four A-Main wins, ten top five A-Main finishes and
four preliminary wins. Finishing in third through tenth were Larry Richards of
Montello, Steve Seitz, Troy Weich of Fond du Lac, Dan Wirl of Oshkosh, Dion
Wahl, Steve Baker of Greenville, Tom Robbins of Ripon and James Gilbertson of
Green Bay.
The Wally’s Auto Sales and Salvage Dirt Devils Division at The Raceway at
Powercom Park and The Signmakers Dirt Devils Division at The Powercom
Speedzone saw Jon Schultz of Belleville drive to the Championship at both
tracks. At The Raceway at Powercom Park, Schultz registered five A-Main wins,
nine top five A-Main finishes and seven preliminary wins. At the Powercom
Speedzone, he raced to eight A-Main wins, eleven top five A-Main finishes and
two preliminary wins.
Finishing in second through tenth at The Raceway at Powercom Park were Mike
Mueller of Waupun, Jeremy Schwock of Waupun, Tim Draheim of Beaver Dam, Ron
Koenig of Fox Lake, Roger Frank of Beaver Dam, Josh Schmitt of Juneau, Nick
Firari of Reeseville, Dustin Schwandt of Ripon and Scott Baake of Milwaukee.
At the Powercom Speedzone, second through tenth went to Bryan Monday of
Appleton, Ron Koenig, Dustin Schwandt, Mike Mueller, Patrick Klawitter of
Berlin, Dave Wilkins of Oshkosh, Ron Paulick Jr. of Oshkosh, Kip Klawitter of
Berlin and Nick Boldt of Appleton.
Rookie of the Year honors at The Raceway at Powercom Park went to Dannon
Tessmer of West Bend in the modifieds, Jasper Drengler in the stocks, Dan
Schumacher in the grand nationals, Bethany Wyttenbach in the Legends and Josh
Schmitt in the dirt devils.
The Powercom Speedzone Rookie of the Year Awards were given to Mike Mullen in
the modifieds, Jasper Drengler in the stocks, Nick Schumacher in the grand
nationals and Ron Paulick Jr. in the dirt devils.
Hard Charger Awards at The Raceway at Powercom Park went to Jay Schraufnagel
in the modifieds, Nate Schepp in the stocks, Joel Wyttenbach in the legends,
Roger Lee in the grand nationals and Jon Schultz in the dirt devils.
The Raceway at Powercom Park Sportsmanship Award recipients were Chris
Piquette in the modifieds, Nate Schepp in the stocks, Eric Barth in the
legends, Kevin Rank in the grand nationals and Kevin Allard of Brandon in the
dirt devils.
Retiring drivers Charlie Ewald of Omro in the modifieds and Darwin Banes in
the legends were presented plaques.
