The Gibbsville Cheese Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series along with the World of Outlaw Sprints closed out the racing season at The Raceway at Powercom Park in Beaver Dam, WI on Saturday night. Warren Ropp and Daryn Pittman would make the final trips to the Winners Circle for the season.

Twenty-five cars took to the track for the start of the 20-lap Gibbsville Cheese Wisconsin Legends Racing Dirt Series A-Main. The initial attempt to start the event was interrupted by an incident involving Adam Reed of Slinger and Joe Surprise of Beaver Dam on the front straight before the start-finish line. Damage on Reed’s car was minor and he tagged onto the rear of the field for the second attempt at a start. Surprise was not as fortunate as he retired to the pits on the hook.

As the green flag waved for the start a second time, Eric Barth of Sauk City dashed out in front from his outside row one starting position. A multi-car incident that saw Robert Huettl of Garrison, ND barrel roll his car several times in turn one brought out the red flag on lap three. Huettl was able to climb out of his badly damaged car. Aaron Rake of Beaver Dam, who was also involved in the mishap, also retired from the event.

Back under the green flag, Eric Barth continued to lead the field. Warren Ropp of Kalona, IA was on the move as he quickly charged from the fourth row and was running in second on lap five. Ropp then began to pressure Barth for the lead. As Barth and Ropp fought it out, Joel Wyttenbach of Sauk City slipped past Chad Patch of Eldridge, IA to take over third by the midway point of the race. Ropp continued to work on Barth for the top spot and on lap thirteen he made his move to the inside of Barth as they exited turn four. Ropp edged ahead as they came down the front straight and took command of the lead. Ropp remained out in front the rest of the way to pick up his first win of the season. He is the sixth different driver to win an A-Main in the series competition this season. Joel Wyttenbach finished his championship season with a second place finish. Chad Patch came across the line in third followed by Eric Barth. Steven Kuntz of Elgin, ND drove to fifth. Finishing in sixth through tenth were Troy Wohlk of Washburn, ND, Glenn Huettl of Garrison, ND, Adam Reed, Bethany Wyttenbach of Plain and Joe Johnson of Slinger.

In heat race action earlier in the evening, Eric Barth, Cam Schafer of Glenwood, MN and Aaron Rake drove to wins.

Daryn Pittman drove to his second WOO A-Main win in two nights as he led all 40 laps taking the checkered flag ahead of point leader Steve Kinser. Donny Schatz followed in third. Craig Dollansky, who won the WOO A-Main at the facility in July, crossed the line in fourth. Kerry Madsen was fifth.
