The Raceway at Powercom Park To Host Legend Race Car National Touring Series
Beaver Dam, WI (July 4, 2005) – The Raceway at Powercom Park and the
Wisconsin Legends Dirt Series are the host for a 2005 RACEceiver National
Touring Series event on Saturday, July 9, 2005.
Legend Cars are a 5/8-scale version of the 1930s and 1940s NASCAR Modifieds
that race throughout the United States, Canada and Europe on both dirt and
asphalt. 2004 Nextel Cup Champion is a past Legend Car Champion.
Many fans describe the cars as “cute”, but be assured these are full blown
race cars that reach speeds over 80 mph, on the Powercom Park track.
Some additional Legend Race Cars from throughout the country are expected to
join the local drivers for this National event. Darwin Banes, head of
the Wisconsin Legend group explains, “We will have past Legend Car National
Champions at this event. It will be a very competitive field of race
cars.”
Eric Barth, the 2004 Masters Dirt Division National Champion, will be
competing, along with 2004 Semi-Pro Division Nationals winner Joel Wyttenbach.
Wisconsin and Iowa State Champions Darwin Banes, Kevin Brill, Aaron Rake,
Keith Moline and Warren Ropp are planning on competing.
