Dirt Track Dream At Powercom Park, August 28th
Triple Crown To Feature Sprints, Midgets & Late
Models
BEAVER DAM, WI – Three of the top dirt track racing divisions in the United
States will take part in the Triple Crown at The Raceway at Powercom Park on
Saturday night, August 28th as the Interstate Racing Association sprint cars,
Badger midgets, and Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association will all be in
action.
“This will be a huge night for any dirt track racing enthusiast, actually
any racing enthusiast,” said Wisconsin Motorsports General Manager Rex
Melius. “Three of the top classes in dirt track racing all running on
the same night. It should be a full night of racing and something that
we have never tried before.
“With the car counts that three divisions have had at their specials in the
area and at Powercom Park I would expect to see as many as 100 machines in the
pit area for the Triple Crown. Many tracks claim they have 100 cars for
a show and we do that for our regular nights too. But these are three
top of the line classes which really makes this a special event.”
All three divisions will compete in preliminary events along with a 30-lap
feature race. All divisions will be racing for points in their
respective series.
“The IRA always brings a full show. Each week at Angell Park Speedway
the Badger midgets have a full show. And, with the WDLMA we have had
great participation both here at Powercom Park and also at the Speed Zone in
Oshkosh. I think the fans are in for a real treat with this type of
show,” Melius said.
Pit gates for the Triple Crown will open at 3:00 pm with the spectator gates
opening at 5:00 pm. The first race will hit the track at precisely 7:00
pm.
