Powercom Park Sets Opening Night Car Count Record
Golf Club At Camelot 100 Coming This Saturday
May 3, 2004

BEAVER DAM, WI – Despite frigid air temperatures this past Saturday The Raceway at Powercom Park persevered and set an all time opening night car count record as 114 machines crowded the pit area for the Karavan Trailer Sales Icebreaker 100.

“The cars just kept coming and coming, it was like there was never going to be an end to the line,” said Rex Melius, General Manager for Wisconsin Motorsports, Inc. “It’s great to get the season off like that. When you can put over 100 cars into the pit area in that type of weather you know there are great things to come.”

To keep the momentum rolling Powercom Park will present The Golf Club at Camelot 100 this coming Saturday night. A full racing program is planned including 100 laps of feature racing in all five of the track’s regular divisions – the Suburban Motors Modifieds, Dodge Central Credit Union Street Stocks, Northwoods Paper Converting Grand National Stock Cars, Gibbsville Cheese Legend Cars, and Wally’s Auto Dirt Devils.

“There are still cars out there that we have registered to race with us that aren’t completed yet. You hate to go out on a limb and say that there will be more this week but that’s entirely possible. The more cars the better as the fans then see a better program,” Melius went on to say.

The Golf Club at Camelot, located near Lomira, is home to a championship 18-hole golf course and pro shop along with an all new banquet facility. Annually the course is voted among the best in Wisconsin and hosts various tournaments and outings along with several charity events. The pro shop is connected to a spacious banquet hall which is perfect for any celebration.  Saturday’s action at the track will begin promptly at 7:00 pm with the first heat race. Gates open at 5:00 pm for fans. The Raceway at Powercom Park is located just off of Highway 151 on Highway 33 in Beaver Dam.
