Six Drivers To Perform Double Duty At PowerCom

Beaver Dam, Wis.---USAC Triple Crown winner Dave Darland leads the list of drivers competing in both the USAC Valvoline National Sprint Car Series, and USACNationalMidget Series doubleheader April 24 at the raceway at PowerCom Park. Gates will open at 2:00pm, with qualifying at 2:30pm, and the first race at 4:00pm.

Darland, one of four drivers to win championships in all three USAC National divisions, will be making his second career appearance at the facility. Darland finished third behind winner Tony Elliott, and Kevin Doty in the most recent USAC event at the track on April 11, 1998. Darland will be debuting with the Lynn Ried team in sprints, while driving the familiar Steve Lewis Racing midget entry.

Jay Drake, finds himself in two new rides this season, racing for Tony Stewart in sprint car competition, and Dino Tomassi in the midgets. California's Josh Wise will pilot Stewart's midget, and drive Drake's former ride for Keith Kunz Motorpsorts. Also doing double duty will be 2004 Chili Bowl winner Cory Kruseman, Arizona's Jerry Coons Jr., and Tom Hessert Jr.

Other drivers entered include: current USAC National Midget point leader Bobby East, 2003 National Midget Driver of the Year Aaron Fike, 2003 Badger Midget Series Champion Davey Ray, Elliott, Brian Tyler, Bud Kaeding, Boston Reid, Jason McCord, Dickie Gaines, to name a few. A field of over 70 cars is excepted for the event.
