West Bend, Wisconsin (04/06/2007): Travis Dassow and the new T.D. Racing Development Team continue to get more comfortable with each and continue to gel at an accelerated pace. Crew Chief Howie Lettow and his Driver continue to learn each other and the results are improving for the entire team.

Dassow and his T.D. Racing Development Crew, made the trip down to the second event of the Fifth Anniversary 2007 racing season in the ASALMS Challenge Division on Friday and Saturday March 30-31, 2007. The historic Music City (TN) Motorplex in Nashville, Tennessee was the site for the Music City Spring Clash 200.

Heading into the Music City, Dassow was sitting 10th in the season long title chase and was looking to move up fast in the quest for the 2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Championship. "The whole team was really excited to get to Nashville and get the second race under our belt as a team.” Stated Dassow as he reflected back on the Music City Spring Clash 200.

"We were really happy with the car during practice and may have been geared wrong for qualifying and caused us to start mid-pack and have had to battle to the front." Dassow continued. The West Bend, Wisconsin pilot qualified 13th out of the 40 cars on hand and would start the second race of the season in the ASALMS Challenge Division from the inside of the seventh row.

Dassow worked his way into the Top 10 in short order and after battling with 17-year-old John Wes Townley for nearly 50 laps for the seventh position, contact ensued between the two drivers on Lap 81. ASALMS Officials determined that Dassow was the cause of the caution and sent him to the rear of the field.

That didn’t deflate Dassow or the team as the 20-year-old battled back through the pack one more time and passed Townley 50 laps after the original contact and continued right on up into the Top Five. Dassow was rewarded with a strong Fourth Place finish and a huge Five Spot jump in the 2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Points Standings to the Top Five in Fifth.

“We had to come from the back again and battled to a fourth place finish.” Dassow continued. “We are really happy with a Top Five, but I’m telling you, I just know that we had a car that could have challenged for the win." Dassow added.

After Nashville, Dassow now stands a solid fifth in the season long points chase in the ASALMS Challenge Division as the team will now head to the famed Toledo (OH) Speedway in Toledo, Ohio on Friday and Saturday April 13-14, 2007 for the running of the Glass Breaker 200. This will be Dassow’s first ever appearance to the fast 0.500 Mile High-Banked Paved Oval.

Heading into the Third Race of the Fifth Anniversary 2007 season in the ASALMS Challenge Division, the 20-year-old is Fifth in the title chase only six points back of Fourth Place Peter Cozzolino. Dassow also sits just 51 markers back of current ASALMS Challenge Division Points Leader, Colt James. In two starts, Dassow has One Top Five and both races have resulted in Top 10 finishes.

For the remainder of the 2007 season, Dassow and crew will make a run for the 2007 ASALMS Challenge Division Championship as well as make select appearances in the ASALMS Northern Division sporting the #89 that has won the last two ASALMS Challenge Division Championships with Stephen Leicht (2005) and Kelly Bires (2006). The new T.D. Racing Development Team inherited almost the entire former WalTom Racing Crew.

The same car Dassow is driving now won the 2006 event at the O'Reilly (IN) Raceway Park at Indianapolis in July 2006. ORP is the site of the 2007 ASALMS Northern Division Season Opener; The A.S.I. Limited 100 Presented by Lucas Oil Products and Ed Martin Automotive Group on Friday and Saturday April 27-28, 2007.

Dassow completed his Sophomore season in the ASALMS in 2006, running in the Top Five for most of the season and scored an impressive seventh place finish in the final ASALMS Challenge Division Points Standings. Dassow collected One Top Five finish, an impressive third place showing at the Oswego (NY) Speedway on June 10, 2006 during the Fleet Pride 200.

Overall, Dassow racked up Eight Top 10s and also won Two Fast Qualifier Awards at the Adirondack (NY) International Speedway and again at the brand new Iowa (IA) Speedway. He also racked up an amazing 25 straight ASALMS races without a DNF (Did Not Finish) over the 2005 and 2006 seasons and is now up to 27 straight ASALMS events without it.

During the 2006 ASALMS Awards Banquet, Dassow's current/former team, T.D. Racing won the 2006 ASALMS Best Appearing Crew Award. In addition, Dassow competed part time at his home track of the Slinger (WI) Super Speedway and despite those limited appearances, finished 13th in the final points standings. Travis is also planning on racing once again at Slinger for the 2007 season.
