Hoosier Racing Tires Back For ASALMS Fifth Anniversary Season In 2007
By: ASA Late Model Series
Lexington, Michigan (12/22/2006): The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM
Performance Parts is proud to announce that Hoosier Racing Tire will once
again be the official tire for all three divisions within the ASALMS for the
fifth anniversary 2007 season!
Hoosier Racing Tire provided a new line of short track radial tires developed
specifically for the ASALMS back in 2005 and will continue to use the same
stock for the fifth anniversary 2007 season. These tires are stamped;
ASALMS6040 and ASALMS6060.
These are the same Hoosier Radial Tires that has been used exclusively by the
ASALMS for the last two seasons and once again will be the exact same tire
used by the crown jewel of the ASALMS, the Challenge Division. In addition the
Hoosier Radial Tires ASALMS6045 and ASALMS6065 will be used at select race
tracks in 2007.
Hoosier Racing Tires also has a bias-ply tire designed specifically for the
Northern and Southern Divisions. These popular tires, which drew rave reviews
from the North and South Teams throughout the 2006 season, will once again be
stamped specifically for the ASALMS and will carry the stamps of both;
ASALMS35 and ASALMS45! These will be the only tires allowed for competition in
the ASALMS Northern and Southern Divisions!
“Hoosier Racing Tires are what Short Track Stock Car Racing is all about!”
ASALMS Founder/President Ron Varney remarked. “Hoosier has given us a great
radial tire for the last two seasons and I see no reason to change that.”
Varney stated.
“Plus our bias-ply tires worked extremely well for the North and South
Teams, so why change anything?” Varney asked. “It only makes sense to
continue to give our drivers in all three divisions only the very best.” He
added.
Hoosier Racing Tires is the leader in the short track grassroots racing market
with their sole focus on building high-performance race tires. Hoosier is the
industry leader in design, production, and distribution of over 1,000 types of
race tires nationwide.
Hoosier, is headquartered in Lakeville, Indiana, was founded by Bob and Joyce
Newton and has been providing race tires all over the country since 1957. The
2005 season marked the first year that Hoosier Tires were selected as the
official tire supplier of the ASALMS.
After a meeting at the P.R.I. Trade Show in December 2005, and a tour of the
Hoosier facility by the ASALMS. Those two factors essentially sealed the deal
in naming Hoosier as the spec tire for the ASALMS. In record setting time,
Hoosier engineers developed a short track radial tire designed specifically
for the ASALMS, and the rest as they say, is history.
“All of our drivers have simply loved the radial that Hoosier made
exclusively for us over the last two seasons!” Varney continued. “Plus the
bias-ply (10-inch Slick) tires are a proven tire all over the country and we
are extremely happy that our drivers will continue to be on the best there
is!” Continued Varney.
“The ASALMS is proud to continue a working relationship with Hoosier and are
very excited to have them on board as a marketing partner once again. It’s
the perfect fit for the ASALMS now and for the long term future of the ASALMS.”
Varney ended.
Hoosier Racing Tire Corporation, extends its heartfelt congratulations to
Kelly Bires, the 2006 ASALMS Challenge Division Champion and Pat Bourdow
Memorial Rookie of the Year, as well as Jesse Smith, the 2006 ASALMS Northern
Division Champion, Derek Neville, the 2006 ASALMS Northern Division Rookie of
the Year, and James Buescher, the 2006 ASALMS Southern Division Champion and
Rookie of the Year.
