Lexington, Michigan (11/17/2006): The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM
Performance Parts will take part in the first ever indoors sanctioned event in
the ASALMS soon to be five year history in December, just a week before the
Christmas Holiday.
The massive 162,000 square foot DeVos (MI) Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan is
the site for the first ever ASALMS sanctioned indoors events; the
Mason-Dixon/Dixieland Challenge II, which is set for Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday December 16-17, 2006.
The ASALMS will join in on the festivities on Saturday and Sunday December
16-17, 2006 with two complete shows highlighted by a 50-lap Feature each
night! The DeVos Place will feature a true indoor 1/4 mile concrete oval
inside the massive downtown Grand Rapids building.
As an added bonus, each 50-lap Feature will pay a hefty $3000 to win and if
one driver can sweep both Features, they’ll walk away with a bonus $1000 for
a nice $7000 payday just in time for Christmas!
Also on hand during the big three day show inside the massive 162,000 Square
Foot Exhibit Hall inside the DeVos Place will be Outlaw Bodied Pavement Super
Late Models as well as the UMP Dirt Super Late Models, Open Wheeled UMP Dirt
Modifieds, Sportsmen, and a “Run What You Brung” division, who will all
take part in this history making event.
The ASALMS portion of the weekend will be ASALMS sanctioned/non-points events
utilizing the world renowned Template Body/Crate Engine package that has made
the ASALMS so successful in such a short time as the series looks ahead to
its’ fifth anniversary season in 2007.
The Mason-Dixon/Dixieland Challenge II will see both Northern/Southern
Division procedures implemented as there will be two complete shows over the
weekend. For these events, ASALMS Members and Non-Members alike are invited to
come out and race in this special event for just a $100 entry fee!
On both Saturday and Sunday, the ASALMS will run a complete show each night of
