Butch Miller To Debut In ASALM Challenge Series This Weekend

Indianapolis, Indiana (03/13/2006): Butch Miller will pilot the #52 ASILimited/SS
Racing Monte Carlo in the ASALM Waffle House/Spring Clash 200 on Saturday
March 18th at Music City (TN) Motorplex, in Nashville, Tennessee.
"I am excited to have a driver of Butch's caliber make our debut in the
ASA Challenge Series. This will send a message that we are committed to put
the #52 ASILimited Monte Carlo up front," said Ken Smith, President of
ASILimited and SS Racing team owner. "Our main focus on this team is
Driver Development, but winning must still be priority on the progression of
this team. I am confident that Butch can get the job done.”
Miller has amassed quite an impressive resume. He is a three-time ASA National
Champion (tied for second-most in ASA with Winston Cup driver Mark Martin),
ranks third on the all-time ASA wins list (50), first on the all-time poles
list (50) and second on the all-time laps led list (over 10,000).
In 2006 Miller again returns to the SS Racing team as Team Mentor/Instructor
and Crew Chief to the #07 Monte Carlo of Developmental driver, Andrew Weldon.
Occasionally, Miller, as in this occasion, will also get back behind the wheel
of an ASA Late Model as well as a NASCAR Craftsman Truck.
“This race is going to be fun.” Added a cagey Butch Miller. “I am so
comfortable with this team. I enjoy the crew chief role and I know that is my
future, but winning behind a racecar is still a priority. I want to deliver
the 1st Challenge Series win to this team”
Crew Chief Deon Deneau is equally excited, “It feels so good building this
new car for Butch. I have built this car to win this race. I know with Butch
in the seat, a win is possible every time we hit the track”
The opener for the televised ASALMS Challenge Division is Saturday March 18 at
8:00 Eastern. The historic Music City (TN) Motorplex in Nashville, Tennessee
will host the Waffle House/Spring Clash 200.
