Hintzsche Brings Dodge Power To ASALMS
By ASA Late Model Series Staff
Lexington, Michigan (02/08/2006): The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM
Performance Parts is proud of the diversity in the competitive fields that
enter an ASALMS event week in and week out.
The template bodied/crate engine package has created equal opportunities for
every driver within the series and the crate engine manufacturers have given
the drivers choice as far as to where they can pledge their allegiance.
Whether it’s a Chevrolet, Ford, or Dodge, competitors know they all have an
equal opportunity.
Troy Hintzsche is unique in the fact that he carries a Dodge power plant
underneath the hood of his machine. That hasn’t gone unnoticed and the fact
that Hintzsche is one of the few drivers with Mopar power has made him the
unofficial spokesman for the Dodge camp.
For the 2006 season, Hintzsche will be running a Dodge Intrepid in a partial
schedule in both the ASALMS Challenge and Northern Divisions. In addition,
Hintzsche will also be going for the 2006 Track Championship in the ASA Late
Model Division at the Madison (WI) International Speedway on Friday nights
during the season.
“I'm really looking forward to the 2006 racing season. Dodge finally has a
solid engine package with better durability. I plan on learning a lot running
a part time schedule with the ASALMS Challenge and Northern Divisions.” Said
Hintzsche as he discussed his 2006 plans. “There isn’t better competition
to run against anywhere than the ASALMS! When I’m not running with the
ASALMS, I will be competing for a championship at Madison.” Hintzsche
added.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a fine 2005 season as his progress has rapidly been on
the incline from his rookie season in ASA Late Models in 2004. During the 2005
season, Hintzsche recorded one feature win as well as five Top Five’s and
nine Top 10 finishes and a strong fourth place showing in the final points
standings in the very competitive ASA Late Model Division at Madison.
His rookie season in 2004 saw the Malta, Illinois pilot (Outside of DeKalb and
60 miles West of Chicago) muster up one Top Five and three Top 10 showings
while finishing 17th in the points. The highlight of the 2004 season saw
Hintzsche finish 10th in the Blain’s Farm and Fleet/Carhartt 100 ASALMS
event at Madison back on May 8, 2004 on a night where NASCAR Nextel Cup stars,
Matt Kenseth, who won, and Travis Kvapil were both in the field.
That night, Hintzsche also happened to be a part of history! To date in ASALMS
history, the event that kicked off the 2004 season at Madison boasted the
highest car count in ASALMS history with 54 machines on hand who tried to make
the stellar feature field.
Hintzsche, who is also pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Kishwaukee College in his hometown of Malta, Illinois, has
made select appearances in the ASALMS over the last two seasons. The Prairie
State driver was on hand for the Coca-Cola/Oktoberfest 100 on October 7, 2005
at the LaCrosse (WI) Fairgrounds Speedway, but mechanical difficulties forced
him to park his ride for the evening.
In 2004, Hintzsche made three appearances with the ASALMS including both
events at Madison as well as the show at the Grundy County (IL) Speedway,
where the ASALMS Northern Division returns on Memorial Day Monday, May 29 for
the George Appleton Memorial 100. His highest finish was the previously
mentioned 10th place showing at Madison.
From 1998-2003, Troy raced Go-Karts primarily at the Trane (IL) Motor Speedway
outside of Chicago in Norway, Illinois as well as various karting facilities
in his home state of Illinois as well as near-by Wisconsin. Hintzsche was the
1999 track champion at Trane and won over 30 features there.
In addition, Hintzsche seen racing action in his Kart and the Midwest Sprints
Series career at: Daytona (FL) International Speedway, Lowe’s (NC) Motor
Speedway, Elkhart Lake (WI) Speedway, Beaver Run (WI) Motorsports Complex,
Mid-States (IL) Speedway, Badger (WI) Raceway, and Batavia (NY) International
Motorsports Park.
For the 2006 season, Hintzsche will carry sponsorship on the side of his #34
Dodge Intrepid from J & D Garage Door Sales ( www.jdgaragedoors.com
), Agriliance Interlock, DeKalb Seed, BASF, and Rooster Reality are all on his
Lefthander Chassis. The hard-working pit crew consists of; Chad Hintzsche,
Peter Kaus, Doug Heinemeier, and Greg Freeman.
The Hintzsche Racing Team would like to run the full ASALMS Challenge Division
for a chance at the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year championship if
the funding becomes available.
