ASA Midwest Touring Stars Haseleu And Vadnais Dominate In Nashville
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (April 2, 2007) – Nathan Haseleu (Pardeeville, WI) and
Josh Vadnais (White Bear Lake, MN) put on a preseason demonstration of what
ASA Midwest Tour events will be like this year at the Music City Motorplex
(Nashville, TN) Sunday. The two raced side by side for the final several laps
of the Spring Clash 150, a CRA Super Series special points event.
"I don't think I breathed the last couple of laps." Haseleu stated
in a post-race interview. "He got inside of me and we kind of bumped a
couple of times, he even led a little bit, but he raced me clean."
“We had a good car all weekend and I felt very confident that we would be
there at the end. Nathan ran a real tough line up top but gave me a lot of
room on the bottom and I did everything I could to get by him and came up
short. He and I are going to be spending a lot of weekends racing together in
the ASA Midwest Tour and I think our fans will get to see this much more
often. We respect each other a lot and I think it showed out there today,”
stated Vadnais.
“Wow, what a finish!” ASAMT VP Steve Einhaus exclaimed. “I spent the day
in the race director’s booth with my good friends Glenn Lucket and RJ Scott
(CRA Super Series owners) and I couldn’t have been happier for them to see
the race end like it did. They have a great series and it felt very good to
see Nathan, Josh, and Benny Van Cleve (Lakeville, MN) go down there and run so
well. This was a taste of what the fans will get to see in the ASA Midwest
Tour all summer long.”
For finishing in the top three spots, both drivers are guaranteed a starting
spot in the prestigious All American 400 in November.
Haseleu, Vadnais and Van Cleve, along with many of the other 50-plus
registered drivers at press time, will make their American Speed Association
Midwest Tour debut at the inaugural season opener April 28, 2007 at the Elko
Speedway (MN).
